A transfer student arrived today.

He doesn't know English very well so I am assigned to be his tutor.

Great.

Now I have to waste another hour to teach him and with his current knowledge, I don't think he can make it far.

I am currently waiting in an empty classroom for the guy to show up.

Now, remind me why I have to do this?

No clue.

Well he's Korean so, hey, at least I know some Korean.

The door slowly opens with a creak, making me turn my head.

Finally he's here.

He greets me with a bow. I greet him back. He doesn't look so bad.

"So uh, what's your name?" I uttered hesitantly. He looked at me and slowly tilted his head to the side. Just when he was about to speak, I cut him off.
"Ileum-i mwo-eyo?" I repeated.

He parted his lips once again. "I..." his tone was quiet. "... understand." A small smile made its way to his face.

"That's good." Without even noticing, I was smiling slightly too.

"Where are you from?" I asked.

He took a moment to think, twisting his lips to the side.
"Birth."

Oh.

Ah..

I see.

I laugh slightly at his answer. It was too ridiculous.
"No I mean-" I giggle again.
"Gugga?"

"Oh oh." He looked away. "Korea." He scratched his arm. "Misunderstood.."

"I'm Han and I'm from Korea too.. hajiman Nan yeogi sal-a."

"Ah.. okay." He giggled too.

I had a feeling everything was going to go well.
