The Last Show in Connecticut

Deep red lights lit up the stage. The screams of the crowd echoed in the walls of the club, as ''Starlit Siren' walked out. Although some of them were for other band members, most of them were for Luz Noceda, the drummer. The girl stood at about 6'0, which was unusual compared to the rest of the girls her age. She had short, shaggy brown hair, dark brown eyes and caramel skin. As she walked onto the stage, she smirked at the crowd and flipped them off, causing them to go crazy. She went up to the mic, winking at a group of girls below

"Connecticut, are you ready??" Luz screamed into the mic, turning her head to listen to the crowd shriek in unison

"That's not loud enough. Let's try it again, I said, Connecticut, are you ready?!" Luz stated, the crowd roared with excitement.

Luz walked over to her drum set, giving her band members a nod as she sat down, took out her drumsticks and sat patiently. Her band members began to play the opening chords and they began the song.

As they finished up the song, the crowd broke out into applause, cheers and screams. The lead singer, Luke, walked up to the mic, and the noise died down. 

"Thank you Connecticut, we love you!!" He bellowed into the mic, smirking slightly, as the noise rose again. "You ready for another one guys?" He asked, turning to the band

"Hell yeah!!" Luz replied, spinning her drum sticks in-between her fingers

The band finished up their set, and said their final goodbyes, and thank yous to the crowd before the lights faded and the club began to empty. Luz went into her room and collapsed on her chair smiling, she lit up a joint and took a puff, and slowly let the smoke out her mouth. Luke burst in the room practically shaking.

"Luz! Luz! Luz! Come with me right now! You need to try this! Derek got hold of some coke! Come here! Now!" He said rapidly, whilst buzzing

Luz hesitantly got off her chair, she had taken drugs before but it never ended well, usually with her knuckles bloody and a warning from her manager. She'd tried to stay clear of coke, knowing how addictive it was. However, tonight was a special night, her band had been together for 3 years, so why not celebrate. 

She followed Luke, watching him practically bounce off the walls, as he sped back to Derek's room and kicked down the door. He dived into the room onto the nearest chair, and prepared another line for Luz. He beckoned her to sit down, pulling round a stool, looking around the room, she saw her band in shambles. They were all over the place, Derek was on the bed spaced out, Luna was staring out the window completely gone. She sat down on the stool, took the rolled up bit of paper and snorted the line. The powder shot up her nose, she felt it immediately. She felt her face heat up, and her heart practically began beating through her chest. 

"Fucking hell Luke, what the fuck was that." She mumbled, trying to stop herself falling off the stool 

"That, was incredible my friend." Luke replied, laying on the floor, staring intently at the ceiling before setting up another line on the dresser

Luz decided not to take any more, instead she chugged some water, and headed back to her room, packing her backpack. She got out her red beanie, her headphones and her khaki green jacket. She went to the bathroom and splashed ice cold water on her face, hoping to sober up before she got home. Her eyes were red and the bags under her eyes were a dark grey, not good. She pulled her beanie over her messy hair, placing the headphones in her ears and walked out the bathroom.

She popped her head round the door in Derek's room, with the intention of saying goodbye, instead they were all passed out. She thought it best to leave them, and not get involved. She hated her band like this, so she headed towards to club's exit. 

Normally, Luz would be swarmed with paparazzi, fans and journalists. But as it was almost 1 in the morning, she was fine. She pulled out her phone and hit play on 'Obstacles by Syd Matters' and headed home, hoping her mum wouldn't be awake...
