Katie halted in her chase and the grasshopper bolted. ( That's, got away in K.C. slang)

Nate: You really should leave things like this to me, Katie.

Katie: How do you figure...?

Nate: Well...You're a girl.

Katie: (Face palm) (Jerk!)

Yes, Nate had hindered the others' bug-catching by making outlandish prideful claims. Stating what to do, what not to do, why you should do it his way, it was getting out of hand so the others huddled to make a plan.

Eddie: What are we gonna do? He just keeps bragging and ruining our fun.

Bear: Seriously, it's not even good or accurate. All bark and no bite.

There are no other ways about it there was wrong with that boy.

Nate: And while we're on the topic of weird situations, what's up with anime and manga? They're just weird characters with even weirder personalities going on weird adventures. They always end up in trouble in crazy situations that don't make any sense. And that's just gag mangas, in other animes there are guys with ridiculous backstories and the main characters always have the window seat, the time I see a guy not sitting by a window I'll be happy. It's obvious I'm the main character, right? There wouldn't be anyone on earth who wouldn't want me as a main...

(Oh no! Nate insulted anime! Sound the alarms ya'll! The Otaku are coming!) 

Y/N with a heavy heart knew what he had to do.

Y/N: *Sigh* Guys, I'll do it...

Katie: Do what?

Y/N: We can't let this whole day be wasted. I'll distract Nate, you guys go catch bugs...

Katie: B-But what about you...

Bear: Yeah we can't leave you alone with...

Nate: I'm so good~

Bear: That...

Y/N: Don't worry guys, I'll be fine...

The sun started going down signaling the end of the day was near.

Y/N: The sun's setting. If you three don't go now and catch bugs, the whole day will be wasted.

Y/N turns to his friends and kicks grass their way.

Y/N: Now get outta here! I can handle it all by myself!

The three started backing up and tearing up.

Katie: Y/N...

Bear: We won't forget you...!

Eddie: Be strong, man, be strong...

And so the three ran off with tears in their eyes hoping that when they saw their friend again safe and sound.

Y/N: *Sniff* *Sniff* ...Run, friends, run. Okay, enough of that sappy nonsense! Let's get back to our regularly scheduled story!

So alone in the field stood Nate and Y/N. One sizing up his situation, the other...pompously bragging.

Y/N: Not even Nate could brag this outlandishly. It's a yo-kai isn't it...?
