Chapter Two

The first week of school was eventful. I glitter bombed Noel three times this week. He looked like a disco ball. He never guessed it was me. He pinned the prank on Jonathan. By the end of the week, he had bruises all over his left cheek that were garish purple splotches, roughly the size of a fist, while others were more grayish, but still looked just as bad.

I kind of feel bad that I cause the bruises on Jonathan's face even though I didn't punch him. Noel should control his temper. You don't have to go around punching people because you have glitter in your ass.

Saturday is my favorite day of the week. Saturdays for any normal person would be the day to go out, go shopping —which I wouldn't mind doing— and hanging out with friends. Saturdays to me would be the day I watch anime all day. I know, popular girls don't watch anime but I can't help it. I love anime. I actually love everything Japan has. They have Nintendo, anime, manga, love hotels, the food, arcades, babysitting robots, Hatsune Miku— a holographic pop star—, bullet trains; the list could go on forever.

I absolutely love Sailor Moon. I practically grew up with it. Even though I was born in Spain, they had this television channel called International Cartoons which showed cartoons from all over the world. On the top of my dresser, I have a collection of everything related to Sailor Moon. My collection ranges from figurines to post cards. I've been collecting since I was seven.

Nobody from school knows that I have an obsession with Japan except for Mindi. She calls me a geek sometimes when I start obsessing over a new Japanese invention or a new anime series. If anyone from my school discovered my obsession, I would be kicked out of the queenbee social class and I would have to hang out with the geeks.

You might think I'm a hypocrite but I'm not. I never bullied or made fun of any of the geeks. I just don't acknowledge them. It would be great if I found someone with the same obsession over Japan like me but it wouldn't work out. They would tell the whole school that I'm obsessed. I'll just keep my obsession to myself like I've been doing for the past four years.

I'm in the middle of watching an episode of this new anime show I found on Netflix called Puella Magi Madoka Magica when the sound of my doorbell fills the house. I jump up and turn off my tv, slamming my bedroom shut. I run to the door and open it.

It's surprising that Noel Hart is standing in my doorway. How the hell does he know where I live? I never told him where my house is. Gosh, I'm so stupid. Noel is on the soccer team and my brother was on the soccer team and they were close friends.

"What the hell are you doing here? You weren't invited," I sneer.

"Are you PMSing or something? I'm here to see your brother," he responds. Does he not know the rule of asking a girl if she's on her period? He didn't ask directly but he implied it.

"He isn't here right now. Come back some other time. Actually, don't come back at all." I try to slam the door shut, but he stops it with his hand.

"Babe, you aren't the only one that lives her. Are you home alone?" Noel looks around my house and I block his view by standing in front of him.

"That's none of your business and can you stop checking out my house? It's not interested," I deadpanned.

"What the fuck is wrong with you? Did you take an extra dose of crazy today?" Noel chuckled. I don't know what's so funny. I want to slap that goddamn smirk off his face and cut his dick off.

"I'm not crazy, thank you very much. Now, can you leave? I was doing something important," I state. Anime is very important and I could've been on the second episode right now.

"Is this thing you were doing more important than talking to me?" Noel asked. "Were you doing something you wouldn't want anyone else to know about?" He raises his eyebrow. I hate him so much. He's wasting my precious time and his eyebrows are perfect.
