I did it again.
I played all my cards at once.
No bluffs
No poker faces.
You indulge in the mystery of me.
But the more time we spend in company
The clearer you see the smoke & mirrors.
You put the cards down
Try to play a different game.
But my eagerness shows through.
I start to feel embarrassed
Realising I'm too much again.
This time is different.
I am more than my want to have sex.
My value cannot be given by anyone.
No one can diminish me.
I chose to lean into my desires
I am no fool for wanting shiny things
And one day I'll find my magpie partner.
