Once upon a time...

Nope.
That's not how I want this story to start.
Actually, I don't know how I want this story to start. It's not a fairy tale, not even close. I don't believe it exists anymore. Maybe it just never existed, after all. Maybe we invented fairy tales to escape what humanity has gone through, and we keep telling stories to children so they don't know what's going on in our world. But that's probably why we grow up thinking life is easy and strongly get hit by the truth even if we want to run away from it.

A car accident

He-
HELP!
HELP ME, PLEASE
Someone, please..."

Tears.
Fear.
I couldn't hear a thing.

There was an animal on the road.
I tried to avoid him.
So I turned to the left.

A big sound.
Then nothing.

My right leg hurt.
I couldn't move it.
Nobody around, I thought.
Then, a blinding light.
Not some god's light.
Just car headlights.

"Help me!
Someone, please!"

A woman approached the overturned car where I was stuck.
She opened the door to unlock my seatbelt.
I was crying.
She grabbed my arm and pulled me out of the car.
I cried more and screamed because of my leg.

I couldn't really see her because the sky was dark, but I could tell that she was tall, thin, with black hair in a ponytail.

She covered my shoulders with a blanket.
She helped me walk because I couldn't feel my leg.
"Hey, it's okay. Everything is fine. Don't cry, kid."she whispered.

She tried to reassure me, but my leg was bleeding a lot, and I felt it.
She circled my leg with a towel, and she put me in her car on the backseat so I could sleep.

I didn't know where she had taken me.
Maybe to a hospital.
But when I woke up, it was not in a hospital.
