Wontons, deviled quail eggs, oysters, and lastly, crudités.

He looked up at me, which startled me. I smiled at him right away and quickly returned my focus to the phone.

I thought of posting it on my Instagram story and captioning it hors d'oeuvres.

"What's the lasa, ate?" With a questioning look in his eyes, my brother expressed his desire not to try it.

I felt like throwing up when I tasted it, but I immediately swallowed it. "I don't like the l-lasa," I smiled at him.

Fucking rude?!

We lost each other's stares as Yael gave me the dish of potato napoleon.

I said, "Thank you." He smiled broadly at me. Agad ko namang tinikman ito.

I was enjoying the flavor so much that I was unaware that I had finished it all.

"Here," I said, looking at Chandler's hand as he offered me to take the tray of potato napoleon he was holding.

I raised an eyebrow at him. "Take it," He said, smiling slightly.

I tried every appetizer, but my favorites were a few that I really liked, like the potato napoleon. The others have flavors that are greasy, bitter, salty, sweet, and slightly spicy. The oyster was the only item I truly disliked. I'm not sure why; perhaps the flavor.

I was asked, "So Hazel, when you grow up, what career do you want, or will you take?" with a surprised smile as we waited for the main course.

Kingina? Paano niya nalaman pangalan ko?

I looked at him carefully before answering his question.

"Forensic Science." I answered.

He nodded. "Interesting," Chandler said.
