“Now where is my phone?” she muttered.

She then ran to get her purse that still lay on the floor of her closet. When she had reached the closet she pulled the door open and dropped to her knees to search the contents of the bag. While still looking through the bag she gasped remembering she had left it in the kitchen earlier that day. If she could get down stairs she could get it from the kitchen.

Shoving the purse back into the closet and closing the door. She grabbed a heeled shoe off of the floor and made her way toward the door.

She cracked the door open a little bit to make sure the hall was clear. Relief washed through her seeing that it was. It was now or never she realized and ran towards the kitchen.

Taking on the stairs two at a time, she got to the kitchen in record time. She was glad to see her phone and reached out to grab it placing the boot on the counter.

“I wouldn’t do that if I were you.” A raspy voice suggested from behind her.
