Illusion of Love

Part 1

I am Y/n Kurenai, wife of Shu Kurenai. Shu works in the police department, while I was once a painter. Recently, I left my job to focus on our family. Shu and I have been married for three years, having fallen in love during high school. After dating for a year, we tied the knot. We welcomed our son a few months ago, but Shu hasn't been attentive to him since his birth.

Shu : Umm... Y/n...I'll be coming home late today, so don't wait up for me.

Y/n : Again?

Shu : Yeah you know, this case is really complicated. But don't worry, okay?

Y/n : Okay...

~At night~

As I lay in bed, I heard someone enter the bedroom. Assuming it was my husband, I kept my eyes closed. Glancing at the clock, I noted it was 3 am. Shu headed to the bathroom, and I slowly opened my eyes. A call on his phone caught my attention, and I couldn't ignore the name "Suzie." Why was she always contacting him late at night? Negative thoughts flooded my mind, but I fought to push them away. 

~Next Day~

It was Sunday. But Shu is busy on his laptop doing some work. After so many days he is at home. I bought coffee for him.

Y/n : Shu...your favorite coffee.

Shu : Oh! Thank you Y/n. Keep it on the table.

He said while his eyes still stuck on the laptop.

Y/n : Shu...

Shu : Hmm?

Y/n : Can we go shopping today? I want to buy some baby stuff for our joon.

She looked up, expecting a response, but Shu remained focused on his laptop, oblivious to her words.

Y/n : I asked something!!

Shu : Huh? Y/n... I am busy. Can we talk later please?

Y/n : O-Okay. Do your work then!

Shu : Hmm...

He was so focused that he didn't notice her teary eyes.

~At Evening~

Shu : Y/n. I am going out.

Y/n : When will you return?

Shu : Just 3-4 hours.

She nodded and he left. Unable to resist, she followed him.

She watched him enter a café, where a girl embraced him tightly. Tears filled her eyes. She called him.

Y/n : W-Where are you?

Shu : Huh? I told you--

Y/n : Answer me fast!

Shu : Umm...I-In police station....

Y/n : With?

Shu : no one.

Y/n : O-Oh...

Shu : What happened? Is everything alright?

Y/n : Y-Yeah... Everything is alright.

Shu felt a twinge of suspicion, but dismissed it.

Shu's thoughts : Thank good...she didn't ask more questions. I almost got caught.

Suzie : Hey! You still haven't answered me! When will you start a new life with me?!

 Shu : I understand you're eager, Suzie, but please try to comprehend...
