Hi and welcome to Stone2Stone, a Medusa retelling by yours truly.
I wasn't going to do the ONC, but the FOMO was real since I've participated every year, starting back in 2020.
Time these days (and energy) is sucked up by a tiny little human who demands mummy keep her happy and occupied. So I wrote this entire story on my phone—cause who has time to start a laptop and sit? Not me. Throughout it, my baby stared at me with her beautiful eyes, her little babbles asking for attention, and her feet kicking me at every opportunity, to focus on her instead.
Initially, all I wanted was to pass R1, but here I am, somehow in R3. This year's been wild.
Without further ado, welcome to my dark and twisted take on Medusa! There were so many prompts that fit so I had to participate. Besides, it's become a tradition now that I try a new genre or narrative technique for ONC. This year, I went with writing a crime thriller (in under 40k), with 3+ POVs, all the while, incorporating Medusa's story. I hope I did the story justice and you'll enjoy it.
To all other R3 ONC entrants, I wish you luck.
💜 Eva
