"are you ready to ask her to prom?" johnny asked his friend, ponyboy as they laid in the vacant lot
"yeah i think so" pony mumbled under his breath. "even though i talk to her a lot during class i don't know if she likes me back"
pony knew prom was coming up and one girl was on his mind to ask, you. pony had been crushing hard for months and months on you
as pony and johnny revised how pony was going to ask you, dally soon came in. scaring the both of them
"dal!" pony and johnny shriek. johnny sighed. "dally what do you need?"
"nothing!" he laid on the grass with them. "what you two talking about"
"pony wants to ask a girl to prom" johnny said without hesitation, pony face went red
dally slapped the back of his back. "pony! you got a girl on your mind? i thought your mind was all over those books"
"cut it out dally" pony stared at the sky. "that was pony from freshmen year, this is pony from senior year"
"so did soda tell you this little plan?" dally just laughed. surprise how pony wanted to ask you
pony scoffed. "you know soda, he isn't here anyone! he got married to sandy last year"
"shit, i forgot that little man" dally put his arms around the two. "can you describe her?"
"we'll she's really smart, kind, also she drives a really tuff looking car" pony continued on ranting and ranting about you
meanwhile you were walking home from a movie, as you walked down the streets. you quickly noticed pony, someone that went to school with you
you liked pony for years and years. he was someone you admire and wanted a future ahead with, but you didn't have the courage to tell him your feelings because you felt like he didn't feel the same
you approached him, seeing him with two others. one boy that looked like he was supposed to be in collage and the other married
"hi pony!" you waved, sitting besides him
pony's eyes widen, nervous. "hey y/n"
"whatcha doing here?" dally interrupted, asking and curious
you smiled. "i came from the movies and saw pony from afar, i wanted to just talk to him for a bit that's all"
johnny knew this was the girl pony was dreaming about, he looked at dally who then read his facial expression that read let's get out of here
"johnnycake!" dally called getting himself up. "i'm going to grab something's, wanna come?"
without any hesitation johnny got up from his spot, walking away with dallas
once the both of you are alone. you bit your lip nervous and shy. "pony did you finished the english assignment?"
"yeah" he nodded. "prom is coming up"
"oh yeah" you thought, "he must have someone else on his mind to ask"
"are you planning to go?" you managed to say, worried for his answer
"i am" pony played with the threads coming out of his wormed out jean jacket. "y/n. i feel so dumb asking you like this. but do you want to go to prom with me?"
"prom with ponyboy!"
you stunned to speak by his words, he continued on how he should've asked properly but it just came out and...
...you kissed him, you kissed him deeply. you were kissing ponyboy curtis. ponyboy grabbed onto your waist, bring you closer
"is that a yes?" he cocked a brow, wondering if he can take you
"yes pony, yes" you smiled before he brought you in again from another kiss
but this time, the kiss was the starting a loving relationship for years and years to come
