"Are you asking me to marry you?" Ivy laughed nervously as crossed her arms. Ghost shook his head, "I don't think you'd want that, dove." he responded with a smile. "You don't know what I want." Ivy said with a devious smirk. Ghost started to laugh but gripped his side and winced. Ivy sat next to him on the bed, resting her hand on his arm, "Alright, you should get some rest now." she said with her eyes soft yet her tone stern. "Yes, ma'am." he said lowly as he adjusted. "I need to call Soap anyways." Ivy smiled as she pulled out her phone. "Ivory, don't play match maker, please." Ghost begged. She gave him a surprised look, "Soap deserves happiness, and who wouldn't want a doctor?" Ivy said as she typed out a message for Soap. Ghost rolled his eyes knowing it was useless as Ivy texted Soap.
I- SOAP!
S- What? Everything ok with LT?
I- Yeah, yeah, he's fine. You're still single aren't you?
S- Y?
I- I know a guy... ;)
S- Steamin' Jesus... who?
I- A DOCTOR
S-😮
I- I KNOW. Can i give him ur number?
S- I'm not gona say no, you won't listen anyways
Ivy smiled widely as she put her phone away and stood up. She quickly looked for a piece of paper and a pen to write Soap's number down. "I'll be right back." Ghost sighed, "Ivory-" he tried but Ivy was already gone.
After a while, Ivy finally had returned to Ghost's room. When she entered, she saw him sitting up with his arms crossed and a unpleased look on his face. "Simon." she greeted with some guilt in her tone. "Ivory-" he responded sourly. "I'm sorry, I won't leave you anymore." she promised as she approached. He held his hand out, "Good, now lay down. I'm exhausted." he said with a huffed tone. Ivy laid carefully next to Ghost, adjusting as he got comfortable himself. He stared at the ceiling with a hand behind his head as Ivy laid next to him with an arm over his torso.
"What did the doctor say?" Ghost said after a moment of silence. "He said 'I can't take this' and slipped it in his pocket." Ivy said through a laugh. "And don't kill him, but he also winked at me." she said. Ghost shook his head, "I'll let it go this time." he said as he looked up down at her. "You got all your memory back?" he asked. Ivy nodded her head, "I did, not sure why or how but, yeah. All of them." she pulled herself against him more, though there was no space left between them. "Do you remember the day you saved me?" Ivy asked. Ghost nodded smoothly, "I do." he smiled gently. "I swear I felt instant relief once you and Alejandro walked in the room," she paused as she thought of Valeria, "How has he gone this long without Valeria?" she asked as her chest began to ache painfully. Ghost shrugged, "He was without her for a long time before she came to the team. Maybe the same way he did then." Ghost said with remorse in his tone. Ivy shook her head, "But he knew she was always out there. I'm sure he waited for her, hoping she'd come back to him." A tear finally fell from her eye, resting on her lip before she licked it away. "I'm sorry Ivory. Having to relive your friends death multiple times can't be less than torturous." Ghost said before kissing the top of her head. Ivy nodded as more tears fell from her eyes. Ghost felt helpless, but he knew there wasn't anything he could say to make her feel better. After pushing the emotions away briefly, Ivy sat up and looked at Ghost with wet eyes, "I don't want to know what that feels like..." her voice cracked. "What?" Ghost asked as he wiped tears from her cheek and under her eyes. Ivy sniffled and took a deep breath, still fighting back the sorrowful feeling, "I don't want to know what Alejandro feels like without Valeria. As selfish as that sounds, I don't want to have to mourn you. I don't want to keep your memory alive as I'm sure he does for Valeria, I just want to be yours." she struggled to speak without hitching her breath. Ghost felt his heart shatter for Ivy. Though he was in front of her, he dreaded the thought of either of them trying to continue without the other. "Ivory Eloise," he said softly with a smile and kissed her. When he pulled away, Ivy saw the smallest wetness in his eyes, "Wherever you are, I'll be behind you. Whatever you love, I'll admire. Whatever you're passionate about, I'll make sure to keep that spark never dulls. Whatever rocks you bring me, I will cherish more than the one before. By the way, I'm due for a few new ones from you." Ghost looked at her with soft eyes, hoping this vulnerability wouldn't go unnoticed. "If there's something you dislike about yourself, I'll be there to worship it. I've lost you once, and if it's the death of me, I'll make sure that doesn't happen again. You are my life now, and have been since I walked into that dim room." Ivy looked at him as tears continued to fall, her chest ached warmly from his words. "Who told you my middle name?" Ivy laughed quietly as another tear fell from her face. "Price." Ghost simply said with a smirk. It was quiet for a moment as Ivy and Ghost looked at each other; Ivy looked down, feeling her nerves get the best of her before she looked back him, but Ghost's eyes didn't falter. "I love you." Ghost said softly, feeling almost hesitant as he said the once venomous words. Now it only felt venomous if he didn't say it every other sentence. Ivy looked at Ghost, surprised and nearly speechless. "What?" she stuttered out. Ghost exhaled a soft laugh and shook his head subtly, "I said," he grabbed her face, wiping more tears away, "I love you, Ivory." Ivy's eyes closed slowly as the words flowed out of his mouth once more, the sweetest melody caressing her ears. When she looked back at him, his gaze stayed. "I love you, too, Simon."
