Chapter 1

"This way that one over there is the Hermes cabin" Maisie pointed at the cabin with the flag with the Hermes symbol on it. "If you don't mind me asking who's your godly parent" Percy asked. "Demeter goddess of the harvest why?" "I figured just wanted to make sure" Percy stoping in front of the cabin. "How did you know she was my mother what if I was in Aphrodite cabin hhmm." Maisie asked stoping in front of him and crossing her arms over her chest. "Don't get me wrong you really pretty but the flowers in your hair kinda gave it away." Her cheeks heated up he just called her pretty. "I knew I should've taken those out" she said as she reached her hand back to take them out of her braid. "No no leave them they look nice" Percy said reaching out for her hand grabbing her wrist in the action. They just looked at each other until they heard a cough from someone and that someone was Luke. They both pulled away very quickly from each other and turned to face a straight faced Luke. "So this is where you'll be staying for now you can go on in and look around" Luke motioned for Percy to walk in. After Percy walked in the cabin being started down by Luke, Maisie walked towards Luke and asked "how much of that did you hear." "Enough to know he thinks your really pretty" he paused for a second while Maisie was internally dying. "He does anything to you I'll kill him" Luke said very casually.

Maisie looked at him with wide eyes "Luke I just met him today it's not like he's in love with me or something." Luke just looked at her dumbfounded "whatever you say." Maisie stomped into the Hermes cabin to see Percy putting his stuff down on the floor next to a sleeping bag. "I hate that you have to sleep on the floor" Maisie said with sympathy in her voice. "It's fine I'll get use to it" Percy said standing back up to look at Maisie. "Anyway let's go on and get started with the tour shall we" Maisie said gesturing towards the door where Luke was still glaring at Percy. Percy looked around the cabin to see everyone staring and whispering about him. Maisie seen he felt insecure and leaned over and whispered "Hey just ignore them it doesn't matter what they think." Percy once again gave her that same lopsided smile. Gosh that smile was going to be the death of her. Luke was talking to some of his friends outside the doorway when they made it outside the cabin. "So where shall we go first" Maisie said as she clapped her hands. "Well I was going to take him around show him what this place has to offer." Luke said to Maisie. "Uhm what exactly does this place have to offer" Percy asked looking towards Luke.

"Glory"Luke said as he started walking down the path. "Demigods have always fought for glory" Percy looked too Maisie who just shook her head agreeing with what Luke was saying. "Well why does a demigod need glory" Percy asked. Maisie looked to Luke for the answer cause she sure as hades didn't know. "It's like attaching a title to your name make you more." Luke dragged out the sentence looking for the right word. "Important" Maisie added in. "Yes, people listen when you talk and it's makes it harder for them to mess with you." Just as Luke spoke those words a girl bumped into Percy making him stumble a little bit Maisie moved over to him to make sure he didn't fall. "Hey" Percy said to the curly haired girl. Maisie knew who it was it was Clarisse she had always been a bully, she got it honest tho being the daughter of ares and all. Clarisse turned around and pushed Percy's chest which caused him to fall backwards which also cause Maisie to fall down since she was behind him. "Hey knock it off Clarisse it's like his first day here" Luke said to the bully. Meanwhile Percy was getting up and held out his hand to help Maisie up. "Hey you ok" Percy asked looking her up and down "I think I should be the one asking you that" Maisie said smiling at him dusting her overalls off. "So this is the kid who killed the Minotaur, is that right." Clarisse asked looking at Percy.

"Yeah" Percy answered looking towards Luke for a split second. "I'll bet, look you want attention, better be ready for it when it comes." Clarisse jumped forward like she was going to hit Percy which caused him to move backwards. Clarisse and her siblings started to walk away laughing pushing people out of their way. "She seems lovely" Percy said very sarcastically. "If you don't know her by now that's Clarisse daughter of ares and biggest asshole at camp." Maisie said very enthusiastically. "They come by it honestly tho." Luke said placing his hands on his hips. "Why don't they mess with you" Percy asked. "They know better" Luke said. "Luke's the best swordsman at camp" one of Luke's friends said, great that's all Luke needed a boost to his ego Maisie thought while rolling her eyes. "So they leave you alone cause of glory" Luke simply nodded. "So if I get glory Clarisse will leave me alone." Percy asked like he was onto something. "Exactly" Luke said proudly like he was master yoda or something. "And people think I'm a big deal here right" Percy asked looking at Maisie. She just shrugged her shoulders and looked towards Luke he knew these answers better than her and she really just didn't care about the whole glory thing. Luke crossed his arms over his chest "Uh yeah I guess so." "Then my dad will have no other choice but to claim me" Percy said getting a little defensive. "If there's one thing I've learned you can't force the gods to do anything" Luke told Percy.  "I'm mean yeah but it make it harder for him to pretend I don't exist at all right." Percy was onto something Maisie thought. "Maybe" Maisie finally spoke. "Well great then where do we start."
