Invisible String

Chapter 1

Narraters POV:
Maisie's job at camp was to welcome all newcomers and passers to camp. She was good at that at least that's what she thought until she met Percy Jackson. This all started about three days ago when Maisie was told to go to the medical center to welcome a new camper. Little did she know the curly blonde boy would be so rude when he woke up. After a short temper tantrum and storming out of the building did she start to see the reality behind his situation. And that's where our story begins.

Narraters POV:
"He's infuriating." Maisie said angrily pulling at the weeds in the flower patch by the lake. "Geez what did that poor flower have to do with it" Annabeth said sitting on a rock just above Maisie sharpening the dagger she carries in her side pocket. Maisie glared up at her best friend who was grinning from ear to ear knowing that what she said got on her nerves. "Well for one this is not a flower it is a dandelion which is a weed, and two I'm talking my anger out on these weeds because Percy Jackson just so happens to be the rudest person on the face on this earth." Maisie finally let out a breath she didn't know she was holding. "Ok calm down I'm sure he's a nice guy he's been through a lot the past few days give him some time to cool off I'm sure he'll come around sooner or later."

Annabeth was always the wise one out of the pair being the daughter of Athena had its perks. As to where Maisie was a live in the moment and worry about it later kinda girl, that's why they were best friends they balanced each other out. "Ok wise girl I'll give him some time to cool off get use to it but only for the rest of the day cause Luke and I are suppose to show him around camp." "That's good enough for me come on let's head back lunch is about to be served." Annabeth said putting her arm around Maisie's neck as the two walked back to camp.

The two walked back into cam Maisie walked over to her table and sat with her siblings a plate of fruits and vegetables sat in front of her. "Ugh" Maisie grunted loudly. "What's up with you" her older brother Ashton said said taking a carrot off his plate. "Nothing it's just do we always have to have fruits and veggies every meal I mean it would be nice to eat something with flavor to it." Maisie said tossing a grape in her mouth. "You of all people should know fresh produce is best for your body and they do have flavor." Ashton always took stuff like this so seriously it's honestly kinda annoying just because they were Demeter's kids didn't mean they couldn't eat other things. "I'm just saying it would be nice to have like chicken or some kind of protein in a meal besides just produce geez." Maisie said putting her hands in the air telling him she was done with the conversation. About five minutes later it was time for they to give their offering Maisie always thought it was kinda strange that the gods liked the smell of burnt food but anyways.

Just as she turned to go back to her table she seen Percy sitting at the Hermes table. Poor kid the table was so full that's where all the new kids came till they got claimed some had been in their for a long time. A wave of sadness came over her then it slowly turned into anger. How could a parent do that some of these kids feel so judged because their parent doesn't want to acknowledge them if only they knew. Maisie got lucking she was claimed two weeks into camp but those two weeks were the worst weeks of her life. She was pulled out of her thoughts by a yelp and to no surprise it was Percy some kid had pushed him off the bench and fell. Some of the kids laughed at him but he just laid there flat on his back rubbing his head. Maisie sighed and walked over to help him up. When she got over to him he had already picked himself off the floor and was dusting himself off. "Hey you ok" Maisie asked worried ,why was she worried she didn't even know this kid. "Yeah I'm fine thanks for checking on me" he said giving her a lopsided smile. "Its no problem."Maisie turned on her heels and started walking back to her table. "Hey can we talk" Percy said to her ,Maisie stoped dead in her tracks and turned back towards the curly haired boy. "Yeah sure" the two walked in silence over to a nearby tree kinda hidden from view. But Maisie felt eyes on her she turned her head around and seen Luke and Annabeth standing beside each other making hearts with there hands. A sudden heat rose to her face she turned her back a flipped them off while she followed Percy to the tree he was approaching.
