Chapter 1

"So what is it you wanted to talk about" Maisie asked hoping he wanted to apologize for the way he acted the other night. "I wanted to apologize" Maisie almost let out a laugh when he said that but she didn't want to be rude. "I shouldn't have yelled at you I know there's no excuse for my actions so I'm sorry." Maisie stood there for a second "it's ok and you've been through a lot the past few days I remember what it was like when I first got to camp." "Thanks for hearing me out I was worried you would never talk to me again." Percy said scratching his neck. "Well you were in luck cause Luke and I have to show you around camp today" why was she acting like this she hadn't spoke to him ever and had butterflies in her stomach and she was blushing since when did that start to happen. "Yeah lucky me" he said looking at her with the same lopsided smile from earlier. "I never got your name by the way" Percy asked as they two walked back. "Maisie, my names Maisie Flora Watson don't know why i needed to tell you my full name but there you go and I'm rambling I'm sorry I do that when I get nervous." Percy just smiled at her gosh why was his smile so pretty. "Anyways I think we should start the tour don't you I'll go get Luke see what he's doing." Maisie ran as fast as her legs could go to get away from Percy. Why was she acting like this she's never felt like this before.

When she walked up to where Luke and Annabeth were she didn't want to look at them she knew what was gonna happen. She had to look up eventually and when she did to no surprise they were smirking ear to ear. "Go ahead get it over with" Maisie said accepting her fate. Annabeth and Luke just looked at each other then back at her "I don't know what you're talking about" luke said "yeah no idea" Annabeth added. "Real smooth guys real smooth, anyways the reason I'm over here is to ask Luke if he wanted to give Percy the tour of camp with me." Maisie said turning her attention to Luke. "Sure but why don't just you and him go" Luke said with a mischievous grin on his face. "Because Chiron said we both needed to do it because Percy is staying in your cabin and your the head consoler so you need to show him the ropes." The grin on Luke's face was gone now "fine let's go get this over with." They said by to Annabeth and walked over to where Percy was standing with his back turned.

Luke made it to him first and tapped him on the shoulder. He flinched and turned around quickly "woah easy there." Percy let out a quick apology and looked Luke up and down his eyes stoped to study his face which had a long scar for his eye down to his cheek. Luke stuck his hand out "I'm Luke head consoler for the Hermes cabin which is where you'll be staying." Percy just nodded and looked towards Maisie and smiled. Luke caught the small act between the two. There was an awkward moment of silence between the three before Maisie broke it. "Ok let's go get your stuff Luke I'll go with him if you wanna meet us at the cabin." Luke nodded at the girls plan "I'll see you two in a bit then we can start the tour." Maisie and Percy turned to walk to the medical center when she headed luke whisper her name she turned to see if Percy had heard him but was just looking around camp. When Maisie turned to look back at luke she seen him make a big heart with his hands. She just turned her attention back to Percy who was already looking at her but quickly looked away. "So how long you been here" Percy asked trying to make conversation. "I've been coming here since I was ten so three years but I only stay during the summer tho some others stay all year round like Annabeth." "I'm sorry who's Annabeth" Percy asked with a puzzled look. "She's my best friend that girl that was standing by Luke earlier at the tables." Maisie tried her best to explain but it didn't seem to be working she could tell by the puzzled look on his face. "I'll introduce you later I promise but let's get your stuff first"Maisie said while they walked up the stairs to the entrance door.

Percy opened the door for her "thank you kind sir." Maisie instantly regretted what she had said why would she say that. "Your welcome malady" Percy said giggling at the blonde girl. Maisie just stared at him, after a second Percy started to get worried. "Hey you okay" he said placing a hand on her shoulder. "Yeah I'm fine I think I finally found someone who will laugh at my jokes." Percy just laughed even more "well I'm happy it's me Grover makes fun of me all the time because of my bad jokes." "Same Annabeth is always telling me mine are horrible but I just do it to get on her nerves." They both continue laughing when Percy proceeded to say " womp womp." The laughter died down and Maisie helped Percy get his stuff together and the two walked out of the building and once again Percy opened the door for Maisie. "Ya know no one's ever down that for me" Maisie said to him as they walked down the path to the cabins. Percy raised an eyebrow at her "What open a door" Maisie just nodded in response. Percy just looked at her like she was hades three headed dog. "Well my mom told me a man was always supposed to open the door for a lady and as long as I'm around you won't have to open one." Maisie was astonished at what he was saying if only he dad was half the man Percy already was. "Thanks that means a lot" and all the sudden the ground seemed very interesting. "It's nothing really so where are we supposed to go." Maisie looked up and realized that they made it to the cabins had they been talking that long.
