I pulled Mandy into my room and gestured for Max to follow us when we made it back to the house.

"Carley..." Mandy hesitated when Max followed us into my room. Her voice was barely above a whisper, and I had a feeling that she was nervous about Max being in the room with us as if she was afraid of what he knew and didn't know.

"He knows that I know of you all," I said while Max closed the door behind us. "Or are you nervous about us talking in front of him?"

Mandy hesitated before she cleared her throat and shifted on her feet while she let go of my hand. "Both?" she asked hesitantly, and I had a feeling that she raised an eyebrow in question.

"Wait, you know?" Max asked before I could get a word out, and I couldn't help but roll my eyes and scowl. He looked between us before he looked at her with a raised eyebrow. "How?"

"Because she was about to say pack when we talked in the bathroom, and I was able to get it out of her that she was half-werewolf and half-human," I replied and gestured to the seats, and he looked at me. "Here, sit, and then we can talk. I do think it'll be fine that he knows what's going on and can give me insights into what happened while I wasn't in the room," I added, looking at Mandy.

Mandy hesitated before she nodded. "Ok," she said, relenting, with her voice barely above a whisper. "I trust you."

"Hmph." I nodded before I cleared my throat, grateful that she did.

"How do you know?" Mandy asked and looked at Max, and Max looked bashful before he cleared his throat and shifted on his feet. "What? What is it?"

"Ummm the young A-"

"Sam," I said, interrupting him, and he looked at me scowled while he narrowed his eyes. I stared at him, blankly, not able to see the look he was giving me. "What?" I asked while I raised an eyebrow in question. "What did I do?"

Max sighed and shook his head. He walked over to the seats, and we followed him. "Anyway, Sam and I ran into her and this boy named Peter on a path. She smacked Sam over the head with her staff because he tried to be a brat."

I smiled a little before I shook my head, amused that Max called Sam a brat and sat down while others sat down, too. "Basically, I touched Max when he was in wolf form and knew that it was him. He helped Peter and I get back to the house by letting us sit on his back."

Mandy bit back a small smirk and slowly nodded. "Does Peter know, too?" she asked while she played with my hands, and I nodded.

"So do the twins, but that is it for now," I said before I cleared my throat and grew serious. "Now, what happened? What did I miss while I was out of the room?" I looked between the two of them and raised an eyebrow in question.

Mandy hesitated and looked at Max before she looked at me. "They were trying to convince me to go, now," she said softly, her voice barely above a whisper. "Max was defending me, saying that I should stay here until I was comfortable."

"We also talked about pack life," Max added, "and how different it is compared to living by oneself."

I slowly nodded and pressed my lips into a thin line. "Did you ask if you were being replaced?" I asked and looked at Mandy.

Mandy hesitated before she nodded, not able to look at me. "I did," she said, her voice barely above a whisper.

"And?" I asked and raised an eyebrow.

"He said that I wasn't," she replied. She shifted in her seat and cleared her throat. "Like he said with you, he wants me in his lifee. He wants me to be with his family and to be his daughter like he wanted in the past but couldn't do it because of my mom."
