ishita glances at her reflection in the mirror, as she is being adorned with jewellery to enhance the shimmering, peach colored bridal attire. Her hair was just done up in a neatly intricate braided bun, before the dupatta was placed on top of her head, to complete the look. she looks completely miserable, as if the necklace had been a rope tied to her neck.

Ishita is sitting next to dushyant on a decorated bench, set up on a perfectly decked up stage, as a board behind them reads:

                                                    'ishita weds dushyant'

She doesn't even look at him once, while he couldn't be more unbothered about it, lost in his own thoughts, looking more shattered than even her.

Mera sajna mileya
Sajna mileya
Sajna mileya haan..

Wo ho...

A large crowd was bustling around, celebrating and eating at the wedding. Ishita looked up gleefully for one moment, at the crowd. she felt like kavin was there, smiling, dressed up more than even the groom, entering through the crowd while dancing and smiling, meeting with everyone joyfully. Unfortunately for her, the delusion could barely last a minute, as she soon realised it was all in her head.

ishita and dushyant take circular rounds around the pious fire, as the priest chanted the hymns, their steps were as unwilling as their hearts towards the marriage.

ishita cried hugging her mother, as the time to leave arrived soon. she looked at her father with a tearful glance, as she finally took the step that was needed, to get into the car that would take her to a completely new place she'll call home from now on.

dushyant was outside his room in the balcony, smoking listlessly, as he looked to be troubled with some thoughts in his head, that were just not ready to leave him alone. he tried to smoke it all away with it each breath, but their reminder seemed to hurt him even more.

                                                                           ***

Dholna ve dholna

the door opened with a loud bang, making ishita look up in astonishment, as she had earlier been quietly seated on the bed, while hugging her knees. she saw dushyant shut the door loudly, as if angry about something, before he got to the bed, and looked at her with an intensely furious glare. she couldn't understand why he would look at her that way, and before she realised, without a word, he quietly went to the other side of the bed, turned his face away with only his back facing her, as he went to sleep.

she felt nothing but disregard with his presence, making her feel more hurt than she already felt. she buried her head onto her knees, hugging them even more tightly, closing her eyes and escaping back to comforting old memories.

kavin lay his head on ishita's lap, who was seated  with her back resting on the trunk of the tree behind them, among the many trees in the garden. the land was filled with pleasantly green grass, as the sunshine seeped into them brightly. she caressed his hair, as he tightly squeezed her hand.

"dekh lena, agar tumhare papa nahi maane na, bhagake le jaunga tumhe..." claimed kavin proudly, as ishita chuckled.

"aur kahan jaayenge hum bhaag kar?" retorted ishita jokingly.

"jahan bhi honge saath, apne aap jannat ban jayegi." stated kavin innocently, as a smile crept up on ishita's face, as she bent down to patt his nose with hers, making him smile too.

she was brought out of the dream like trance, back to the crippling old white walls surrounding her room, and looked back to the man she would now forever be tied with to marriage, who had nothing but indifference to offer, and had to let it sink in, this will be her life from now on.
