014. callin' out

Flynn glared at the two boys. "I swear, if you two say one more thing about romance, I will make sure you become ghosts and never come back again." They went silent after that.

After an afternoon of talking and eating sad cake, Julie, Flynn, Alex, and Luke came to the conclusion of what their plan to save Reggie should look like.

First, Luke would walk into the Orpheum and distract Caleb with trying to one-up him with his pride. They all agreed that wouldn't be too hard.

A little after Luke started getting under Caleb's skin, Julie would go join in and talk to Caleb as well. Hopefully the two of them would make a good enough distraction together.

While Luke and Julie were distracting Caleb, Alex would grab Reggie's attention and draw him away from Caleb and make sure that he was safe and free.

Flynn would be directing this all from the security room where she could see everything that was going on in the building and give the band their cues to Reggie's rescue.

"So, we're doing this tonight, Jules, right?" Luke asked Julie. "Yeah, as soon as my dad and Carlos get home, we'll leave. We need to get to Reggie as soon as possible." Flynn got up from the kitchen table and said, "Okay, well, I should get going. If I'm going to get into the Orpheum's security room, then I need to be there way before you guys get there so I can tell you what to do."

As soon as the three band members got to the Orpheum, Julie took Luke's hand for just a second and squeezed it reassuringly. "You got this, Luke. Make sure he pays for what he's done. I'll see you soon."

Luke smirked hazily back at her as he asked, "No good luck kiss?" Julie rolled her eyes. "Don't push it. We need all focus on getting Reggie out tonight." Luke smiled. "Yeah, I know, Jules, but you didn't answer my question. I can't leave until Flynn gives the cue anyways."

Julie rolled her eyes and smiled. "How about we just save Reggie and then worry about anything else?" Luke sighed. "Alright, fine. But I'm still gonna question you later. I hope you know that."

"Well, certainly better not be when I'm not around," Alex muttered. That made Julie laugh, but Luke crossed his arms defensively. "Hey! Why you gotta act like that, man? We were having a moment, here."

Alex eyed him a little suspiciously with a hint of a smile. "Were you, Luke? Were you really? I hadn't noticed." Luke's mouth hung wide open in offense. Julie nodded with a shrug. "He's not entirely wrong." After saying that, she and Alex started bursting out laughing.

"Guys! Hush up! It's almost time!" Flynn announced through their ear pieces. "I wasn't even talking!" Luke whisper-hissed in defense. Julie and Alex looked at each other and rolled their eyes and smiled.

"Luke, it's your hour," Flynn announced. Before walking into the Orpheum, he took Julie's hand and kissed it. "See you in ten, Jules."

Alex raised an eyebrow, and as soon as Luke was inside, he asked Julie, "What was that all about? Are you guys finally dating?" Julie shrugged. "It's... complicated. He technically asked me out, but I didn't have time to answer him, and... I guess I don't really know what's going on other than we both like each other."

"Finally," Alex groaned. "Reg, Carlos, and I have been counting down the days. We thought it was gonna take a lot longer for Luke to actually admit his feelings after... well you know." Julie nodded. "Elle." Alex nodded. "Yeah," he said softly.

They didn't say much more before Flynn announced, "Julie, your time. Luke's ready and waiting." I'm sure he is Julie thought to herself.

"You really thought we'd just join your club by putting a curse on us Caleb? Do you even realize how much work we went through as a band and with Julie so that people could see us again?! I don't think you do!" Julie heard Luke exclaim as she walked into the back stage room where Caleb, Luke, and Reggie were.
