"It wasn't"
After the silent commotion, Dazai helped Atsushi and took him to the infirmary to be checked on by Yosano. It was confirmed that his legs had stopped moving for an hour. After that, he was able to move around freely but stiffly.
"It felt like a bad dream... Am I really that useless?" Atsushi thought to himself
Later in the day, Atsushi just carried on with work and kept moving his legs around to ensure they were working. He was terrified that it would freeze up again.
When it was time to go home Dazai said that he should come with him to "make sure his student would be ok" Atsushi said he didn't need to but he couldn't convince him.
The walk home was silent but only Atsushi's thoughts could be heard to him.
It echoed worries of "What ifs" and "Will it" kept flooding his brain throughout the trip.
"I'm sorry for the trouble Dazai" Atsushi finally said as they arrived at their destination
"Oh don't worry about it Atsushi!" Dazai said with a smile
Kyouka had already walked into their place leaving the student and the teacher outside by themselves.
"You should go in or you will get cold" Dazai suggested
"Thanks, I will. Goodnight Dazai" Atsushi said
"Goodnight Atsushi" Dazai waved as Atsushi entered his room
Later that night while Atsushi was fast asleep nightmares merged into his space.
"You are useless now that you can't do anything," A familiar voice said
"You are going to let down the ADA brat," Another familiar voice said
"You won't even be able to get me sake anymore! How annoying!" Another said
More and more voices echoed into his head. It wouldn't stop. It felt like he was trapped in his imaginary cage, trapped like a wild animal as others watched him from afar with different emotions on their faces. Many familiar faces showed up as they stood in front of his cage. They each said their line then walked away in disgust.
Finally, it was now left to three people, a boy with blond hair who always smiled which was brighter than the sun, a girl who had dark black hair with no emotion on her face and wore a red kimono, and finally a man with brown messy hair in a trench coat that flowed in the wind. They stood there watching the legless tiger.
A wide smile grew on the man's face and finally said, "A tiger with no motion is useless to me" and the three began to walk away.
"Wait! Don't Go! I can still move! Please! Come Back!" Atsushi yelled and extended his arm out, "Please! Don't go..." He was left behind. He couldn't even run after them. Anxiety hit him hard. His chest felt heavy, his breathing was getting tighter and tears streamed down his face. He then curled into a ball and just lay on the nonexistent floor.
"Please, anyone, save me..."
