Madeleine's POV

"Okay everybody, I want you to give Milo and Madeleine your undivided attention," Rourke called out. Milo and I were standing next to a projector.

"Good afternoon. Can everyone hear me okay?" Milo began. Pop! Audrey let her bubblegum fill the silence as she blew a big pink bubble, a bored look on her face. "How about some slides? The first slide is a depiction of a creature, a creature so frightening that sailors were said to be driven mad by the mere sight of it," Milo continued on.

The picture flashed on the board and everybody laughed. It was Milo at the beach wearing his stripy swimming suit with an inflatable Nessie float, armbands and goggles. Beside him was Fluffy.

I couldn't help but giggle too

I couldn't help but giggle too. I remember that day very well, in fact, I was the person who took the picture. Don't tell Milo this but, this is secretly one of my many favorite photographs of my brother.

"Hubba hubba," Mrs. Packard mocked. "Uh, I'm sorry. That's wrong, " Milo's face flushed red in humiliation. "Geez. I used to take lunch money from guys like this," Audrey rolled her eyes.

"Anywho, this is an illustration of the
Leviathan, the creature guarding the entrance to Atlantis," I explained.
"With something like that, I would have white wine." Vinny commented. Milo demonstrated the Leviathan and the path to Atlantis by drawing on the chalkboard the correct route.

"Kind of like the grease trap in your sink." Milo said thoughtfully. "Cartographer, linguist, plumber.
Hard to believe he's still single,"
Helga sassed. "You said there would be digging!" Mole pestered. "Go away Mole." Helga shoved him away.

"Captain, you'd better come look at this sir," a sailor called to Rourke. "Okay, class dismissed," Rourke declared. I turned to Milo. "Milo, do you really think we'll come into contact with that creature?" I asked him.

"It's highly likely but if we do, I'll protect you," he reassured me. The submarine's exterior lights were switched on and everyone headed up to the wheel.

"There are ships here from every era," Milo's eyes widened at the underwater boat graveyard. My nerves kicked in stronger when Mrs Packard played an unusually eerie sound on the speakers.

"What is that noise?" I shot Rourke a quizzical expression. "I don't know Mads," he answered firmly. The noise grew louder, unsettling everybody. Rourke began to instruct the sailor behind the wheel when suddenly there was a horrendous crash that rocked the submarine and sent everybody falling to the floor.
