It was around midnight, and both Kai and Beomgyu were hanging out as they couldn't sleep.
I forgot to mention.

They're neighbors. And what made them know each other was the fact that well. . They're neighbors.

Midnight hangouts were common between them, and it was usually held whenever one of them were in trouble, the cause from the one and only, Taehyun.

"Beomgyu hyung!" Kai came running after his hyung.

But Beomgyu didn't stop, he kept walking and didn't seem to react to what he said.

"Hey, wait!!" He finally caught up to the older and wrapped his arms around Beomgyu.

"Come on, say something, Beomgyu. You can't keep ignoring me forever."

Beomgyu kept quiet.

Until he broke down, crying.

The younger noticed and turned him around, hugging him face to face.

". . Is it about Taehyun again?" He asked softly.

Beomgyu nodded, tears falling down his cheek.

Flashback: cafeteria

"Beomgyu hyung."

"What?"

"I'm sorry. I don't feel the same way."

"Would've thought so."

His heart shattered.
Like actually.
Why, Taehyun?
Why so bluntly?

"I-"

As much as he didn't want to hear it, he knew there was nothing he could do.

Taehyun didn't like him. And that was final.

So just get over it.

"O-okay. . I-I'm sorry. . I-I shouldn't be. . c-crying like this. ." His voice cracked while he kept trying to wipe his endless tears away.

Their classmates watched in silence, not wanting to make it seem anymore awkward.
Kai kept his mouth shut, too. Which was the right thing to do anyways.

Soon, the bell rang. Lunch break's over.

But not until both Taehyun and Beomgyu have sorted this out. (?)

So while everybody else were done eating and walked out of the cafeteria to their classes, the class 11-A were all still in it. Except for Yeonjun, of course.

Taehyun tried to reach out to the older, frowning.

"Beomgyu hyung. ."
