the last installment of the Draco Malfoy Love Story Series
"i don't have a lot of time but," Draco rips the necklace he gave me last year on valentines day off my neck and takes the sleeve of my shirt, throwing it upwards. he places the pendent onto the Dark Mark and it begins burning badly.
"what...are you doing?" i seethe
"just please, Vanessa, be patient." Draco pleads, looking around to make sure no Death Eaters are heading our way
the pendent shines a bright green and slowly, before my eyes, the Dark Mark fades from a jet black color to a pale grey.
"what did you do?" i ask staring at the Mark
Draco places the necklace back in my hands
"you're still a Death Eater but this way they won't be able to track you. this necklace, i gave you last year, has a protection charm so old it can heal even this Dark magic. i want you to go. run. run with Potter and be safe. promise me..you'll be safe" Draco says
"i promise" i say shocked
he grasps my lips with his, giving me the most passionate kiss we've ever shared
"go" Draco pleads slightly pushing me away from him
i turn and take a few steps before turning back around to face him
"i love you" we both say at the same time
our eye contact stays locked before Draco turns and runs off, back into the woods. i turn, running to my friend who is now laying on the ground, holding the necklace tightly in my grasp.
i open my eyes from envisioning that night. Draco had planned it from the beginning. he saved me. they can't track me so that means i can run. i can fight. i can fight for my best friends. i can fight for the love of my life.
"Vanessa! its time to go!" Ron yells from downstairs
"coming!" i yell back, hopping up from my seat on the floor
i had been staying with the Weasley's all summer. Hermione was here as well and we both shared a room with Ginny. one's missing right? yeah, Harry. he's been hiding out at the Dursley's. which brings me around to the fact that we are heading there now.
i run down the many flights of stairs and see everyone standing there: Bill, Fleur, Fred, George, Ron, Hermione, Hagrid, Lupin, Tonks, Mad Eye, Mr. Weasley, Mundungus, and Kingsley.
"now that everyone's here. lets get Potter to safety." Mad Eye grumbles
is this what all the Muggle world looks like? every single house looks identical! what the hell?
we walk down Privet Drive looking for the right house. the problem is is that the all look exactly the same.
"its that one. I'm positive." Hagrid says pointing to one in particular
we all begin heading that way, walking silently. Hermione takes the lead, not bothering to knock, but goes right in. there Harry is, surprised by Hermione hugging him. Ron goes in and hugs him.
