Cold greetings and meetings

Start from the beginning

'Mhm' Was all he said as he observed his daughter. "I know that, but where are you actually going?" he asked.

She shook her head trying to think of a way to come up with something to tell him. "New York," she muttered.

Hades arched a brow. "And why are you going to New York?"

"Can't I see the world?" she lightly chuckled.

"Evangeline," he mumbled, staring her down.

She cleared her throat and swallowed. "Percy asked to hang out with me, today."

His nostrils flared and he clenched his fist. "Jackson?" he asked.

She slowly nodded. "Why does he wish to spend time with you?"

"I don't know, can't friends catch up."

"You will see him at camp, I do not see a reason for you to meet him early when you will see him there."

Evangeline scratched the back of her head. "Um, that's-"

"Evangeline," he spoke. "What's going on?"

"Percy kind of asked me... to look around New York with him," she said the last part silently but he heard.

"What?" He raised his eyebrows.

"Percy asked me to roam around New York with him." she played with her necklace looking at the ground.

But Hades didn't get mad he just watched his daughter with his eyes slightly wide. But his expression did something she had never expected to happen, it softened. "Oh," he mumbled.

Silence fell over the two as the hellhound tilted its head watching the father and daughter. Evangeline finally managed to look up at her father, she let go of her necklace and sat up straight. "Dad?" she asked softly.

He turned his attention back to her from the picture of her and her mother on the dresser, he took a deep breath. "Well," he said. "Have fun then."

Evangeline felt her jaw drop, did he really just tell her to have fun with the boy he hates? "Okay," she got out of her shock. "I'll see you after the summer." she got off the of the stool she was sitting on and watched him up and down, this had to be a trick was he going to send a fury to murder Percy?

He looked at his daughter taking in her appearance, he curled his lip. "I am not going to kill the boy Evangeline."

"That's not what I was thinking." she shook her head.

"I'm your father, you should learn how to lie to me better." he pointed to her twisting her ring back and forth.

The brunette immediately stopped spinning the ring. "I should get going." she turned to the hellhound on the other stool still posing, he came down and walked up to her feet she leaned down and petted it. "I'll see you when I come back, okay? I promise." She promised.

The dog left her room, she stood there for a moment before she grabbed the rock Nico had given her from the dresser and put it in the pocket of her jacket as she left the room. "Goodbye, Father!" she shouted from down the corridor.

Hades heard the shout from down the corridor and yelled back. "I'll destroy him if he tries anything!"

He looked at the painting she had been making and walked out of the room locking the door.

Percy burst out of the alley onto East 81st and ran straight into Evangeline.

"Slow down, waterboy." Evangeline said as they steadied each other so they didn't go flying into the street.
