It's been 6 months since that whole "incident" but I've never felt more at home. Tony did leave to go have more of a life with pepper. Clint retired and went back to his family. Thor left right after sokovia to go back to Asgard and Bruce went MIA (missing in battle).
We got a call for a mission in lagos, and Steve told Wanda and I to both get ready. We were going on our first real mission since becoming an avenger.
"All right, what do you see?" Steve asks through comms. I was sitting at a table with Wanda drinking some coffee "Standard beat cops. Small station. Quiet street. It's a good target." Wanda answers him "There's an ATM in the south corner, which means..." Steve trails off wanting us to finish "Cameras." I answer him "Both streets are one way." Steve said "So, compromised escape routes." I say before taking a sip of my coffee "Which means our guy doesn't care about being seen, he isn't afraid to been seen, he isn't afraid to make a mess on the way out. You see that Range Rover halfway up the block?" Steve says I glance behind me and see what he is talking about "Yeah, the red one? It's cute." Wanda says "Very cute and very bulletproof" I add "Which also means private security, which means more guns, which means more headaches for somebody. Probably us." Nat says "You guys know Wanda and I can move things with our minds, right?" I ask into comms. "Looking over your shoulder needs to become second nature." Nat said taking a sip of her coffee. "Already is for me" I answer shrugging "Anybody ever tell you you're a little paranoid?" Sam spoke up "Not to my face. Why? You hear something?" Nat asks "Eyes on target, folks. This is the best lead we've had on Rumlow in six months. I don't want to lose him." Steve says sounding determined "If he sees us coming that won't be a problem. He kind of hates us." Sam says "Sam, you see that garbage truck? Tag it." Steve tells him "Give me x-ray." Sam said to redwing. "The truck's loaded for max weight. And the driver's armed." He says "It's a battering ram." Nat mumbled. "Go now." Steve said "What?" Wanda asks but I'm already up making my way over "He's not hitting police." Steve answers her Right then the truck slams through the gate and guards started running out, guns in their hands.
"Body armor, AR-15's. I make seven hostiles." Stave says into comms "I make five." Sam says I flew over the bridge Sam was on making a force field in front of me as a guard try's to shoot me. I land then grab the guard with my magic "Sam" I say as I throw him up towards him He knocks the guard back down before saying "Four." He says into comms "Rumlow's on the third floor." Sam said shielding Wanda and I with his wings "One of you. Just like we practiced." Steve said as he backed up. "Wanda you're up" I say taking a few more guards out "What about the gas?" Wanda asks "Get it out." He answered as Wanda lifted him up to the third floor
As Sam sent two missiles over him to the guards Wanda and I both used our power to get the gas out. "Rumlow has a biological weapon." Cap said on comms "I'm on it." Nat said as I heard her motorcycle start up "Sam. He's in an AFV heading north." Steve told him and he took off "I've got six, they're splitting up." Sam said I look at Wanda "Go. I'll get the rest out" she tells me I nod then take off "Where?" I ask "Market." He answers me "I got the two on the left." Nat said "I got middle." I say "They ditched there gear. It's a shell game now. One of them has the payload." Cap said into comms I use my powers to quickly grab the two men running through the market and slam them down
"He doesn't have it. I'm empty." Sam says "Me either. It's on you, Nat." I sigh "Out of the way!" I heard Nat yell I started walking through the market trying to find Steve "Payload secure. Thanks, Sam." Nat says and I let out a sigh of relief "Don't thank me." He says "I'm.. not thanking that thing." She says "His name is Redwing." He told her "I'm still not thanking it." She tells him "He's cute. Go ahead, pet him." Sam tells her. I kept running around trying to find cap. I turn a corner to see Rumlow was on his knees and cap standing in front of him. But something was wrong Cap kinda looked horrified. "I gotta go." I hear Rumlow say as I come into ear range "And you're coming with me." He says activating a bomb he had. I quickly reacted using my powers to kept it from fully exploding. I started to lift him up to get him away from the people. But as soon as I got him high enough I lost control. The bomb went off causing a near by building to explode. I look up in horror of what I had just done. I covered my mouth with my hand. "Oh my..." Cap mumbles "Sam... we need... Fire and Rescue... on the south side of the building. We gotta get up there." He says I quickly start to fly into the building. I hold the breaking part of the building up with one hand as I start to float people down with the other. I saw some people unconscious on the ground and as I float them down I pray they are still alive. I got everyone out as another part of the building explodes again causing some glass to shoot my way. I quickly throw up a force field but a piece of glass slips by and gives me a deep cut on my head. I let out a yelp and stop using my powers for a second but the building starts to collapse. I quickly reach up both hands holding the whole building up. "Elizabeth get out of there!" I hear Steve yell through comms "Not until everyone is out!" I yell back "Sam get the rest of them out now!" Steve yells "5 left" he says
"3 more" he tells us
"Last one" he says as he flys out with the last person
"Elizabeth get out of there now! Everyone is out!" Nat tells me "The building is going to collapse is everyone out of the way at the bottom?!" I ask on the verge of passing out from exhaustion.
I hear Steve start to yell through the comms "Move! Back up! Back up now!" He says After a couple of minutes Steve speaks up again "It's clear now get out of there!" He says "I... I ca- cant" I say as I start to see black dots form in my eyes "Wanda get her out!!" I hear Steve yell before everything goes black
