Patrick Lavery was empty, his mind was not aware of what he had seen. Blood spilled all through his soaked clothes, three bodies were on the ground around him, two he could easily recognise, the other was smashed intensely leaving no resemblance to their past self. His eyes poured with wetness as he kept crying, the blood of his family stained into his skin. The anger that had been plaguing his life had finally gotten the best of him, he did not mean to do what he had done, it was an accident, why would he do this, who was that monster?
His fathers cold hand was lightly grasped onto a wooden stake, it was quite sharp and it carried an emblem on the very base of the wood that Patrick could only describe as a makeshift snowflake. it had three straight lines overlapping onto each other and at the tips bore different styles of spikes. Patrick knew of this symbol all to well, it was plastered over nearly every one of the letters that his father had received since he had been little. Patrick wiped his eyes with the brown leather jacket he wore, making his line of sight clearer, he clumsily shuffled over to his fathers pale body and picked up the piece of wood. he brought the stake closer to his eyes, getting a clearer view of the emblem, his eyes searched the object looking over each singular grain of wood until they widened as he noticed initials under the emblem - O.A.H.
the boys face scrunched up in confusion, his mind wandered to every name he could think of that brought any resemblance to the initials burnt on the wooden stick, but to no avail. His father had always been a secretive man, he always had overheard his mother worrying of her husbands infidelity, wondering who was sending her husband letters every month on the exact same day, at the exact same time, in the exact same packaging. this night had been the first time in Patricks life where he had been given any sort of answers about his fathers double life and now he was ever more confused.
Who is the person that his father had been receiving letters from, what did his father do that got him killed by some monster that sucked the essence out of his parents, who had Patrick just killed, or what did he just kill?
