After climbing over Mt. Moon, our heroes have finally made it to Cerulean City for Ash's second gym badge.

Ash: "Ahh! We made it to Cerulean City! Just a few more minutes until I get my gym badge!"
Brock: "And while you're getting your second badge, Gary's probably going after his fourth." - He jokes.
Ash: "Ughhh, please don't patronize me..."
Pikachu: "Pika...?"
Ash: "Hmm, what is Pikachu?" - He looked around only see Brock. - "Wait, where's Misty?"
Brock: "Huh? I don't know, she was here earlier."
Ash: "Where'd she go?"
Misty: "Wait!"
The guys looked to see Misty catching up to them.
Ash: "Where were you?"
Misty: "I-I was just staring at the sign. Where are you going?!"
Ash: "What're you talking about, we're going to Cerulean City."
Misty: "W-Well you don't want to face the Cerulean gym leader, trust me!"
Ash: "Why not?"
Misty: "Because she's..."
Ash: "She's what?"
Misty: "She uses very scary ghost type Pokémon."
Ash: "... First of all, the Cerulean gym leader uses water types, and second of all I think I'll take my chances with ghost types, come on guys."
Misty: "Hey, wait! What about Vermilion City?"
Ash: "Vermilion City?"
Misty: "Yeah! It's right over the water and there are a lot of nice Pokémon that you can be able to catch! Plus, there's a nice little park way up on a hill where you can sit and watch the sunset, it's so romantic. It's so much nicer than boring old Cerulean City, so let's get going!"
