You walked off stage, hearing the screaming from the many fans—another successful comeback. Stupidly successful but it was a chart-topper nonetheless. It was the last day of promotions and you were eager to rest. However, you knew rest wasn't going to come. You had a packed schedule and knew that it wasn't going to end truly. No personal time off, no sick days. Just working constantly.

But it was the career and life you chose all those years ago.

You remember joining your former company at age twelve, giggling with the others that were light years ahead of you. But you were their little kid. Everyone was older than you by at least a year or two. Doting on you and making sure you were okay.

Until you met your forever best friend a year later.

She was from Daegu and you were born in Busan. She was your roommate in the trainee house and you were closed off at first. Just like she was. Shy about your accents and the way both of you spoke was incredibly different than everyone else who was born and raised in Seoul.

"I'm Y/N." You introduced yourself after two days of not speaking one word to her.

"Joohyun." She answered quietly.

"Are you older than me?" A slip of the tongue, causing her to look up at you from the bottom bunk. A fall back to the familiar language you were used to.

"I think so?" Joohyun answered, this time with a hint of her accent falling out.

"But I'm you're sunbaenim." You had a mischievous smile about you. Not to annoy her and make her life hell. Just annoying sibling energy.

You didn't know you had unlocked a best friend forever at that moment. You had trained with Joohyun for years before she was picked to debut. You were turning eighteen and they had explained it was your age. Too old to debut with the concept.

So you left. You switched over to JYPE and didn't look back. But you kept in contact with Joohyun and the others with whom you had formed bonds. Joohyun was happy to see you competing on a survival show, wishing you as much luck as she could muster.

She was one of the first people to contact you and give you congratulations when she found out you had been chosen to debut.

Now here you were, three years into your debut and you really didn't know what to do at that moment exactly. You were exhausted, but you hadn't eaten much. You were also a little gross from performing which meant you needed to shower, but that took work and you just didn't feel it.

"What are your plans Y/N with the short vacation?" Mina asked.

You glanced up, seeing her equally tired expression. You shrugged your shoulders, still not entirely set on what your plans were exactly. You thought about going back home, but you weren't entirely sure yet.

"I might go home..." You muttered. "Visit my parents." You added.

"Oh? Home? You usually go during the holidays?" Jihyo immediately entered your conversation, now worried about your sudden want to visit. "Are they okay?" She asked.

"Yes, they're fine, just feel like I need to get away from the city." You sheepishly admitted. "I miss being away from everything." It was the truth. You had grown up in southern Busan and only ventured to Seoul to become an idol, and now you were kind of disliking the entire city population. Yes, your town was a little populated and touristy every now and then, but you did like the street you lived on.

The apartment building you grew up in had an amazing view of the ocean and the bridge. There was even a market right across the street for the perfect snacks. It even had the best kimchi jjigae you had. Comparable to your mother's of course, but it was home. Where people knew you by name and your antics rather than being a famous idol. They knew the real you. Not the facade you threw up just to make the crowd happy.

When you got back to the dorm, you waited your turn for your shower. You stayed on your phone, texting the only person you knew would have a break with you.

"Who are you smiling at unnie?" Dahyun chuckled as she sat next to you on the couch.

"Joohyun unnie." You smiled. "She's going to be on break too. We might go down together." You explained to her.

Dahyun was one of the few members with that you were extremely close within the entire group. You didn't know why, but you two had hit it off perfectly and had become the best of friends. She was funny and amazing and talented and you just couldn't help but befriend her instantly. Talking about various things you two had in common. It had started with how she was accepted into SM and you had already been there.

The only other person you were entirely close with was Jeongyeon. She had trained with you for a little while, and you two had hit it off with your joking and pranks. It only made sense that you two were roommates with Momo. The three of you joking and talking about different things while trying to fall asleep at the end of hard days. You loved Jeongyeon like a little sister and she was entirely grateful you weren't too keen on honorifics. Mainly because you were born in May and didn't care too much for being called 'unnie' when she was only born in November.

The last person you were close with, but not entirely, was Sana.

Sana was a different type of close. You kept her within arms reach mainly because of the stupid butterflies you felt when you saw her sometimes. You couldn't help but smile when she smiled and laughed when she laughed. You liked talking to her, and she loved chatting your ear off. You would listen to her drone on for hours about anything if you were allowed. But you especially loved her ability to catch on and adapt to languages. You really thought she was amazing to be able to keep up and even keep up with you when you got too tired to keep your Seoul dialect up.

But all of that just meant you liked her as a member. Nothing more. Nothing less...
