' Rose '

( season 2, episode 9 )

IN THE TAPESTRY OF EXISTENCE, death is but a thread woven into the fabric of life, an inevitable part of the grand design that renders each moment precious. As the sun sets on one chapter, it gives rise to the possibility of a new dawn, a testament to the eternal cycle of existence.

In the quiet surrender to the unknown, where shadows dance with the light, there lies a profound beauty in the transition from life to the great beyond. It is not an end but a transformation, a metamorphosis of the soul that transcends the boundaries of mortality. Like a caterpillar cocooned in stillness, awaiting the embrace of wings, so too does the spirit embark on a journey beyond the veil.

And in this dance between mortality and eternity, the whispers of memory linger, casting a gentle breeze across the heart. Those who have departed are not lost; they become echoes in the symphony of our lives, their essence woven into the very fabric of our being. In the tapestry of remembrance, they live on, a testament to the enduring power of love and connection.

ALEXANDRA could hear her surroundings before her eyes opened, a soft hiss pushed through her clenched teeth from the ache of the vervain in her system alongside the burning sensation wrapped around her wrist. She could hear voices from her right side but they didn't seem to be in the same room as she was, she smelt something familiar just then and snapped her eyes open only to see her cousin lying across a patterned couch unconscious. Alex tugged on the vervain-soaked ropes that restrained and held her against the chair, she looked towards the door when she heard someone walk in.

"Who are you? Where are we?" Alex questioned, glaring at the woman who entered the room with a man trailing behind her.

"Put her back to sleep.", the woman spoke to the man, ignoring Alex who immediately shook her head and tugged on the ropes harder and painfully ignored the burning from the vervain. She concentrated on her hands and used her magic to burn the ropes off, she immediately stood up and held her hands at her side as she stood her ground although she regretted it when the vervain still held strong in her system and she swayed slightly. The man rushed forward but was thrown a few feet back by scarlet magic that slammed against his chest, the woman sped forward and held a sharp piece of glass to Elena's throat.

"Stand down or I'll kill her now and be done with it.", the woman threatened, Alex glared at her but lowered her hands anyway and the scarlet energy snuffed out. The man came up behind her and snapped her neck quickly, her body falling into his arms instantly.

The next time Alex woke up, she could hear Elena's voice accompanied by the man who had snapped her neck. She opened her eyes and saw the man was getting in Elena's face with a hungry expression on his features, she threw a small ball of energy towards him which backed him up a few steps.

"Stay away from her.", Alex spoke, the pain in her neck still evident as she reached up and massaged it slightly, she sat beside Elena as she glared at the man, "Trevor! Control yourself!", A second voice spoke from the entrance to the large room, the woman from earlier stood there with an irritated expression, 'Trevor' mumbles something under his breath before leaving the room entirely.
