Y/N POV

"Nobody can remember their name once they enter the Digital Circus. One of the few things I don't have control over is your minds. So, all I can help you with is coming up with a new one," explained Caine.

I was beyond worried. First, wearing a VR headset with no way to leave this digital world, and now, I didn't even know my name.

"Don't you worry your little head. Your new name can be anything! Hereby acknowledging that your chosen name and or names may not breach the Digital Circus user agreement stating that your name may not include objectionable content. Objectionable content includes but is not limited to sexually explicit materials, obscene, defamatory, libelous, slanderous, violent, and/or unlawful content or profanity," Caine reassured, adding another layer of peculiarity to my already bewildering circumstances.

Despite the reassurance, the weight of the situation lingered. I took a deep breath, attempting to process the idea of leaving my old identity behind and embracing a new name in this bizarre digital realm.

"What are ya thinking? " Caine inquired, his voice cutting through the contemplative silence.

"I'm not sure," I confessed, my gaze shifting between the unfamiliar surroundings. "Just pick anything,"

"Lets see!" Caine exclaimed.

Just then, a machine fell from the top of the tent. Caine swiftly caught it and, with a deft spin, the machine generated a name - 'Y/n'.

"How about Y/n? That name is well-suited for a lady like you," Caine suggested.

A mixture of surprise and acceptance washed over me. "Y/n, huh? Well, it's as good a name as any."

"Excellent choice! Now that I'm done touring Y/n, for today's agenda, I want you all to continue the tour and explore the tent, as well as her living quarters!" Caine exclaimed, his digital voice resonating with theatrical enthusiasm.

"Wait, I have a room already?" I asked, a hint of surprise and confusion coloring my voice.

"Of course, sweet cheeks, whoever enters this digital realm already has their rooms designated," Jax chimed in, appearing right behind me with his mischievous grin.

"Stop doing that! And don't call me that!" I retorted, a mix of irritation in my response.

"Hmm, how about... no, sweet cheeks," Jax teased, maintaining his playful demeanor.

"Why, you!" I began to retort, but before I could escalate the banter, Ragatha intervened, gracefully stepping between us. Jax couldn't help but grin mischievously, clearly reveling in the light-hearted exchange.

"Now, now, let's not start a fuss on Y/n's first day," Ragatha gently chided, her yarn-like hair swaying as she spoke. "We're all here to make her feel welcome."

Jax, feigning innocence, placed a hand over his heart. "Oh, I'm just giving her a warm welcome, Ragatha. No fuss intended."

Caine, observing the exchange with a twinkle in his animated eyes, decided to steer the conversation back on track.

"Now that's all been settled down, Bubble and I have meetings to attend. So have fun! and remember-I have my eyes everywhere. That's all!" Caine suddenly vanished, leaving the six of us on the stage.

"I won't be joining the tour; I'll be at my room. And Jax, off!" the mix-and-match avatar swore, giving the purple bunny a middle finger before exiting the area.

"Are you sure, Zooble? You might miss the fun," Ragatha suggested.

Zooble waved her off, declining the offer. Ragatha sighed but quickly composed herself.

"Well, that leaves us four, unless we count Kinger, if he's not in his barricaded pillow port," Ragatha observed.

"I, too, will go to my room and fix my mask," lamented a ribbon character, whose sad mask had been accidentally broken earlier by Jax's mischievous antics.

Feeling a sense of guilt, I offered, "Hey, um, I can help you fix your mask after touring inside the tent."

Gangle looked surprised but grateful. "That'll be great, thank you, Y/n. I'll be waiting in my room. Feel free to enter; you'll know it after they show the living quarters," the ribbon figure left.

Ragatha commenced the tour of the tent, providing intricate details about the circus. As I focused on absorbing every piece of information, Jax remained surprisingly quiet. I couldn't help but feel a sense of relief, knowing that if he refrained from making fun of me, the tour would proceed smoothly. The tent's interior unfolded into a whimsical space, with various sections designed for entertainment, relaxation, and communal activities. Ragatha guided me through the ball pits, mini golf courses, and digital carnival rides, all pulsating with vibrant colors and dynamic animations.

As Ragatha led the way, the digital tent unfolded into a myriad of vibrant spaces. Each living quarter was uniquely designed, reflecting the personality of its occupant. However, there were some rooms with either crossed-out names or blank mannequins on the doors, piquing my curiosity about what had transpired in those spaces. I decided to set aside my questions for the time being as Ragatha continued to show me her living quarters and those of the other inhabitants.

"Mine is just down the hall. Feel free to explore the tent on your own when you're ready. Each room has its unique charm, and you might find something that resonates with you."

As Ragatha finished the tour and left to help Kinger, I stood outside my designated room, pondering the events that led me to this extraordinary place. The crossed-out names still intrigued me, but for now, the allure of exploring my own living quarters beckoned.

"Well, would you look at that, Shortcake, your room is next to mine," Jax exclaimed with a mischievous grin. I couldn't help but roll my eyes at his choice of nickname. I looked next to mine, indeed his room is just next to mine. 'Oh great'

I couldn't help but raise an eyebrow at Jax's comment. "Shortcake? Please don't give me any nicknames," I replied with a mixture of amusement and mild irritation.

"Why? because you're short?" he quipped with a mischievous grin.

I shot Jax a bemused look. "And you're not helping your case with that comment."

He merely shrugged, his grin widening. "Just keeping things interesting, Shortcake."

Rolling my eyes once more, I replied, "Call me Y/n, not Shortcake. And let's not turn this into a height competition, shall we?"

"Hehehe no promises"
