Summer

Today is my first day at the Children's Hospital Of Seoul! I am extremely nervous and excited. I studied hard for this position. Learning a new language, Environment, and more. And let's not forget how hard it was trying to find an apartment here. Most of the places were overpriced and most were extremely racist, I mean turned me down as soon as I walked into the building. But I am really lucky and blessed because the job I got provided me with a beautiful Condo that's a couple blocks away from my job! I looked at myself in the mirror once again and smiled. I grabbed my house keys and headed out the door.

I stopped by the nearest Coffee shop, "Yes, can I get a regular Caramel Frappe, extra whipped cream please." The Cashier smiled and gave me my receipt. I stepped to the side and waited for my name to be called. I smiled looking around the Cafe. The aesthetic was perfect. A mix of brown and light pink with lots of small Coffee cup drawings on the wall. I felt a shoulder slightly touch mine. She was tall with shiny dark hair. "Yes, I have a pickup. Dr. Cha." The teenager passed her the Coffees. Shiny dark hair grabbed the cup holder and walked off. "She's such a wench." The teen mouth. I giggled. "Summer." I raised my hand and she brought me my Frappe. "Have a nice day at work!" She chirped. I thanked her and walked out the door. I continued my scroll until I saw the big art sign that had kids holding each other hands. "Okay, Summer this is it." I mouth to myself.

My phone buzzed in my pocket.

Halle- Good Luck on your first day! I love you lots!

I thanked her and slid my phone into my tot bag. I smiled big and walked into the moving doors. I walked towards the front desk. "What can I do for you?" The lady asked in English. I responded, "Yes. My name is Summer Boissiere, this is my first day. My boss is Cha Eunwoo."  She widens her eyes. "YES! You're Summer!" I laughed nodding my head. "The whole baby delivery department has been waiting on you." Well, that kind of made me feel better. "Follow me. Now you are a bit late, but it's okay! I got your back girl!" She said grabbing my hand. We made it off the elevator to the baby department. "By the way I'm Alexa."

She knocked on the door and went in. It was packed my anxiety shot up to the roof. Everyone was looking at me. "This is Summer! She's a bit late because of me. I couldn't find her name in the systems." I raised my head looking around and smiled while waving. "That's fine, Now can we please start before Eunwoo gets here." I looked ahead. SHINY HAIR! Alexa smacked her lips and turned to me. "Good luck!

I sat next to the guy who looked over it already. He reached out his hands, "Matthew. but everyone calls me BM." I smiled and shook his hand. "Summer." Shiny hair cleared her throat, "I'm sorry. but it looks like y'all have more important stuff to talk about." I sat up and my seat and apologized. "You know what Ga-young how about you—." The door swung open and a tall man walked into the room. I saw everyone standing up to greet him so I did the same. "Good morning." He said turning around towards us. We greeted him back in unison. "It's a new season. Which means new members. Stand up and introduce yourselves."

Oh no. I hated this. I thought we only did this in school. "Hello! My name is Soyoung! I'm 23 And this is my second year working delivery! I transferred to Seoul due to overpopulation." Eunwoo smiled and averted his eyes towards me. I cleared my throat! "Hi everyone! My name is Summer, I'm 22! This is my first day working in a hospital! I'm from the USA! Mississippi specifically." "I can't wait to start my new journey with you guys and girls," I said a bit too much I think. I sat back down. "Aw! She's so cute." They whispered. I looked up and saw Dr. Cha staring at me.

Ga-Young cleared her throat, "So today Eunwo..." Dr. Cha cuts her off. "It's Dr.Cha." She widens her eyes, "Eh?" He steps in front of her, We're splitting you guys today! Ga-Young will take the new nurses. The rest of you will start your normal routine. Let's have a good day! Yes!" Everyone got up and exited the room. Me and three other girls followed behind Dr. Cha and Ga-Young. "Why did you tell me to call you Dr.Cha? I have been calling you by your first name. Is everything okay?" Dr. Cha turned around and pulled her to the side. "Let's focus okay." She nodded. Dr. Cha went his own way and he followed Ga-Young as she taught us about Hall one and two.

We're currently heading to level five. Which is the cafeteria. I became close with one of the girls that's new just like me. Her name is Haerin and she's eighteen! Girls have brains! She talked about how her older brother is a head doctor and how strict her mom and dad are when it comes to their careers. "Are you and Ga-Young close?" I asked while grabbing a tray. She shrugs, "I guess you can say that." I giggled and grabbed a sprite. We sat near the window. "So how do you feel about your first day and also you being the only black girl here." She asked. I ate a spoonful of rice. "It's not bad. I would have thought other nurses would have stereotyped me because that's what I'm used to. But no. I was wronged everyone is nice and welcoming." I said.

Matthew walked towards us with a subway bag. He sat down next to me, "I can't eat that shit every day." He unwrapped his sub and started eating. I laughed. "Well, it is my first day." He shrugs, "I had Burger King my first day." He said while chewing his food. "Had me shitting all day." Haerin sat her chopsticks down. "You're disgusting BM." I raised my eyebrow, "Y'all know each other." He nodded. He took a sip of his drink. "Been knowing her since she was a baby. She didn't tell you?" I shook my head not looking back at her. She rolled her eyes. "Dr. Cha is her brother." I widen my eyes! "Why didn't you tell me."

"Because. I don't want you to treat me differently like the others do. I don't want to be known as Dr. Cha's little sister. No." She said slouching in her chair. I nodded understanding. "Speaking of the devil." She said looking ahead. I turned around and saw him walk towards us. I can't lie the man is very attractive. He looked like he came out of a webtoon. Literally. Dark hair with a fade. Dark eyes. Perfect brows. And perfect teeth. And the height Oh My God! He stopped at our table. "Hey, bro." He said speaking to Matthew.

BM smiled at him with mayo all around his mouth, " Wassup." I smiled at how messy Matthew is right now. He converted his eyes towards Haerin. "Hae? Everything going well." She nodded playing with her chopsticks. "Ms. Summer. Everything well?" I nodded giving him a thumbs up. "Well, the day is almost over. So how about after we go get drinks and eat meat?" Matthew's eyes lit up. "YES BROTHER!" We laughed. "I'll let the others know." He patted Matthew's back and walked off. I gathered my tray, "wait on me!" Haerin said shoving the rest of the rice in her mouth. I laughed walking towards the trash.

"So how do you feel about the new midwife?" Jaehyun asked walking into my office. I smirked, "That's the first thing you ask me. What about how's your day going?" Jaehyun laughs. He sat down and ran his hand through his hair. "She's really sweet and smart. Ga-Young said she caught on pretty fast." He nodded. She's very pretty also I thought. "Well, I can't meet her tonight. You did invite her right." I nodded. The door flew open.

"I can't do this anymore guys," Jungkook said shutting the door and sliding down the wall dramatically. "Here we go again," Jaehyun said. "Who was it today?" I asked tossing him a bottle of water. He sat up and opened the bottle, "Mrs. Kim. She threw her piss bucket at me." Jaehyun and I laughed. He widens his eyes, "Yall think that is funny. It was literally hot!" He exclaims. "Just ask another nurse to take her." He sat the water bottle down. "I did. Haven't heard from anyone yet." He sighs. "By the way, who's the new girl walking with your sister?" Jaehyun smirks, "That's the new midwife." Jungkook sat next to Jaehyun, "She's a darling." I nodded agreeing.

"She's from the south so she has lots of manners," I said. They raised their eyebrows. "How you know?"

"Never heard of Mississippi the state of hospitality? They both shook their head no. I laughed. "Well, I invited her to dinner tonight. So you guys will be able to ask her lots of questions." Ga-Young walked in and that was my cue to leave. "Why are you guys always in here?" Jungkook smacks his lips. "I should ask you the same question." She rolled her eyes. "I heard you invited people to dinner tonight. Why didn't I know?" I grabbed my jacket. "You know now right?" I grabbed my back and keys and walked out the door.

She looked at JK and Jaehyun and rolled her eyes stomping out the door.
