I told Jay that I was dating Jase and he kinda flipped out. "Your dating Jase!" Jayden yells "Yea" "As in my best friend Jase?" Obviously who else? "Yes" I answer rolling my eyes "Why?" He asks "I thought you hated him" "Well now I love him" "How?" Jay ask's with a confused expression on his face "Don't blame me, love made me crazy if it doesn't you ain't doing it right" "You're definitely crazy" jay laughs. I roll my eyes and walk away
Later that day. Jase and I are laying in his backyard watching clouds drift over. He's sitting cross legged and I'm laying with my head in his lap. We're not talking about anything in particular just enjoying each other's company. "I don't believe in never" Jase says playing with my hair "I don't believe in always" I counter "Well opposites attract" "Never" I raise a brow "Always" he finished, smirking. He leans over and kisses me. "I love spider man kisses" I say smiling "What?" "Spider Man kisses, I'm laying in your lap so you kissed me upside down spider man kiss" I shrug "Well I like them too then" Jase says kissing me again. "I told Jay about us" "Us?" He raises an eyebrow "Yea, he's okay with it don't worry" "What do you mean us?" "Me you together what else?" I turn over and look at him "We're not together"
My heart drops to my stomach.
"What?" I whisper "We never labeled this" he says waving a finger between us "so there's no 'us' we're just.....I don't know" "Do you want to label it?" I ask "Will you be my girlfriend?" He asks smiling "Never" I tease "Always" he counters "Always" I kiss him again "that's our thing now" "What is?" He asks "Never always" I answer "That's cringey" "It is not" I sit up and slap his knee "Fine it's 'our thing'" he makes air quotations with his fingers
He drives me home and plays baseball with Jayden on our front yard. I sit on the steps and watch as they throw the ball back and forth. "Who's winning?" I shout "Jayden" Jase answers "but not by much" Jay smiles and throws a hard ball, Jase hits it and it goes flying "Home run!" I yell "Jase wins" Jayden mumbles "Yay!" I run into Jase's arms. "You're ridiculous" Jay says rolling his eyes I wave him off and continue to hug Jase.
