He cut her off by pulling her into his familiar embrace, not even giving her a second to protest or object.

"I missed you, Siyani. You ain't miss me?"

A rush of mixed emotions began to cloud Siyani, overwhelming her more by the second. She honestly didn't know what to think or do. "Ion know if it's a good idea for you to be here. Like for real for real."

Her words weren't able to come out clear for the mere fact that her face was pressed against his chest and he didn't plan on letting go until he felt like it.

He kissed the top of her head while releasing one of his arms from her body so he was able to shut the door. Meanwhile, Idris stood a few feet away from the person who he hadn't seen in a couple of months, barking uncontrollably.

"Okay nigga, damn! Get off of me." She finally pushed him away with a frown, being a bit more ruder and louder than she intended since the sound of her son's barks were irritating her further.

His head jerked back at her new attitude, not believing that she had changed that much in the span of two months. "Who you talkin' to, Yani? You bumped yo' head?"

"I mean it's only three of us in this place and I damn sure don't speak dog." She moved away from him, bending down to attempt to calm Idris down.

His eyebrows remained furrowed as he watched her pick up the medium sized dog, still trying to figure out where her new demeanor had came from. He worked so hard to get her to stop showing him attitude and listening to him instead but it was clear that went down the drain.

"Shush, baby boy. Ima get rid of him soon." She whispered to Idris so low that Booka didn't hear, kissing the top of his head soon after.

She placed him back on the floor once he was calm enough to mind his own business, not knowing that her neck was now exposed displaying all of the marks on her neck.

"Aw you must gotchu ah lil nigga 'das pipin' yo' head up na', ain't it? Bein' a whore."

As much as she didn't want to admit it, his words shot right through her chest which surprised her since she thought she was free from the shackles of his influence. But him being in front of her made her realize that she still might have been wrapped right around his finger.

She tightened her robe again as she looked over at him, a slight distasteful look draped over her face. She had to keep her face like that in order to prevent the tears that wanted to come out so bad.
