I dedicate this chapter to the sweet Shyness000 who is the first to vote on my story :) love you <3

This one is all about clichés. Brace yourself.

What is a cliché?

A cliché is something overused. Maybe at one point it was new and inventive, but now they are boring and unoriginal.

There are so many cliché plots out there. Do you really want a story exactly like 17 others? No? That's what I thought.

Let's think about the books on your bookshelf. Are any of those similar? Like, very similar? Probably not. Most authors are creative enough to create their own story without copying another's.

Yes, I understand that you want a good book. You think the only way you could bring happiness to people, like your favorite book did for you, is to share that same plot. Maybe you do want to make it your own, so you tweak a few details so that it's yours. Maybe a name, maybe add a few characters . . .

NO! Don't copy! It's not fair for that author to be copied! How would you feel if everyone copied your best original story? Angry! Sad! Annoyed! Disappointed! Frustrated!

Shall we move on? Here's a list of a few common cliché stories and themes on Wattpad:

One Direction fanfiction (Key to writing a good 1D fanfic: don't. Haha just joking. Read the worst 1D fics that you can find. Then, read the most popular ones. See what went right and wrong. Then you can start planning yours)

Kidnappers who fall in love (I can't. Just don't)

Student x teacher (Guys, this shouldn't even be a thing)

Player/jock x nerd (Why is every jock a player?)

Bad boy x good girl (Parties, sex, and the bad boy turning out to be sweet)

Social circle (WHY IS EVERYONE LABELED?!)

Depressed girl (Listen, I'm sorry about all that, but no one likes reading books that make them feel sad or angry about themselves. These books are typically written by authors who feel the same, so just vent it in a rant book labeled "Depression Rant Book." It's just an opinion here, but please stop. If you need help or support, ask your friends and family, not implying that you need help and turning to strangers to receive it. I'M SORRY I SOUND SO MEAN UGH)

Social anxiety girl struggles w/ school (This probably isn't as common as it seems, but I have a few of these in my Wattpad library)

I'll leave it at that. I could elaborate on this, but I can't really come up with these. There are many, many clichés (especially fanfics (I'm talking to you, Directioners)) out there, but this is just a shortened list that I compiled.

Now, is it bad to read a cute little cliché story now and then? In my opinion, any book with a happy ending is a cliché book. Am I weird for wanting a sad book now and then?! Probably.

(I actually wrote this chapter a long time ago, but I'm rereading now so I can publish. I just wanted to say, The Fault in Our Stars is my favorite book. Gotta love John Green. Anyway, that book has a very sad ending, but everyone loves that book! I guess I'm not the only one who likes them after all!)

Ultimately, don't write clichés. Please just avoid it. Unless you have lots of twists that no one sees coming, don't.

Hey guys. I feel like I was ranting too much in this one . . . Ha, just wait til the grammar one, that'll be great //smiles evilly.

Evilly does not look like a word omg.

I feel like these chapters are way too short. Maybe it's because I'm separating my plot into different chapters . . .

Thanks for reading guys! Vote, comment, enjoy!
