Morning came and went. I spent all day in my room. I couldn't think of anything to do. I was scared something was wrong with me. I could be dangerous mutated freak, or vampiric like mom and dad are. But it's fine for them. Dad looks normal and mom over the years does to. Not freakish eyes color, mom's a little auburn but nothing incredible outrageous.

It's purple. Not green, blue, brown, or any other normal, acceptable color. No it's purple. Just my luck. Mom knocked for a while, I pretended to be asleep, rolled over so she knew I wasn't dead and had to come over an physically touch me. She left. Around noon, it was dad's turn, he wasn't so convinced.

"Danielle. Wake up."

"What dad?" I said turning on my side away from him.

"It's time to get up."

"I don't want to. Can you just leave me alone?"

"What's the matter? I can't fix it if you don't tell me what it is."

"You can't fix something that happens dad. Unless you want to take my uterus out, then by all means help, but you won't get grandchildren."

"Danielle. I can tell something's the matter. Tell me."

"Dad. I'm alright. Just go away."

"Danielle-"

"Dad! Just stop nagging me!" I snapped and got up from bed. I walked to the window. "I'm alright."

"Honey, I want to help."

"Help what? Something that's happens?"

"You damn well I'm not talking about that."

"Then what are you talking about?"

"Danielle. Something is obviously wrong with you."

"Just a little depressed and I'm moody but besides that I'm fine can you please not ride me about this?"

"I want an answer."

"I gave you one."

After a period of silence, he left just like mom did earlier.

"Something is up," Aunt Row said. "We're not stupid."

"She said nothing's wrong, I believe her."

"Honey," Dad said. "I don't believe her."

"Well that's your opinion. She would have told me something was wrong."

"She freaked out at Nat about dinner,"

"She apologized, what do you want her to do? Give up her kidneys to show she's sincere?"

"I want the truth." Aunt Row snapped.

"We all want the truth." Dad said.

"Well, did you get your truth?" Mom asked.

"She didn't tell me anything."

"She didn't tell you anything because there was nothing to tell."

"Yeah, she's 16 and she's bound to lie."

"Okay, since you have it all figured out, tell me what's wrong with her?" Mom asked Aunt Rowan. Aunt Row, but her lip ambivalently. Mom looked at dad, who was equally stumped, then at Uncle Damon, who was deep in thought but sighed resentfully.

"What?"

"I have a theory," he stood up. "But you won't like it."

Did he figure it out?
