Ok so let me explain if you haven't seen the movie or read the book or anything this'll be confusing prob shouldn't read bc spoilers
Ok so basically they are from the ancient times back when the natives came to the land they are part of the Micmac tribe and they are the Pompey's. Atohi and Dakota are husband and wife and Dakota is pregnant with Teyha, their daughter.
Unfortunately, Dakota passed away while giving birth to Teyha. Atohi was heartbroken and the pet sematary called to him and so he buried Dakota.
Of course she came back, but not the same and she tried to kill baby Teyha. So Atohi had to kill her and he vowed to protect Teyha.
But when she was six years old, she was attacked and killed by a bear. He was devastated and he told himself that this time would be different from his wife so he buried her in the pet sematary.
It went better than with his wife, he was able to keep her a secret from his tribe but then she kept sneaking out and killing their people and livestock so he had no choice but to kill her too.
But he couldn't bring himself to do it and so she killed him and buried him in the pet sematary. They killed more people but mostly stayed hidden in the woods.
It was only when the French came to explore the land that they were both put to rest to rest. They attacked them but the French managed to kill them. The end.
