"Aww... That's my girl... I'm sorry, sweetie... It was silly to expect you to wait for a cart..." Sadie says in a calm and joyful tone as she rubs Avery's back

"See, that is an example of a spoiled brat." Some random guy says to one of his friends

"Dude, shut up!" A woman in their group says as she smacks his arm.

Sadie glances over to the guy who says that comment before speaking "I don't think she is a spoiled brat, I think she just really wanted the watermelon and couldn't comprehend why she couldn't pick it up at the moment..." Sadie says with a calm tone

"Exactly, she is spoiled." He says

"Chris, shut up!" The girl says.

"She isn't spoiled... She has autism... Her mind works differently than most people... She doesn't understand that we needed to get the cart first... She just saw the watermelon... Saw that she wanted to grab it, and didn't understand why she couldn't grab it right away..." Sadie says as she tries to explain autism better to the guy

"Okay... whatever." He says

"Please don't judge people without trying to understand them first..." Sadie says in a calm tone. "My daughter has autism and I understand how it might seem like she is acting spoiled, but she really isn't..."

"I'm so sorry." The girl says,"He's acting like an ass." She says, looking at the guy.

"You don't need to feel so sorry... I understand that  sometimes people don't understand autism and how it can affect people." Sadie says with a reassuring tone as she smiles at the woman.

"I still feel bad, i-im, so sorry." She says,"I think parents like you and your partner are really talented."

"I do appreciate the compliment... But I'm a single mother... I don't have a partner... I do it all on my own... " Sadie says while she rubs Avery's back

"Ash, can we go?!" The guy says.

"Just go, guys." She says, looking at him. "I'll meet up with you later."

"I'm not super talented. I honestly don't know what I'm doing most of the time... But I try my best to help her and make her life the best it can be..."

"Oh gosh, how do you do that?!" She says

"Some days it feels impossible... But I love her so much, and I want to give her a better life... So I just try my best..." Sadie says in a thoughtful tone as she looks down at Avery.

"She honestly makes my life so much better just by being herself... Just by being herself... She is the light of my life... She is such a joy to me... So even though it is hard, I wouldn't have it any other way..."

"I don't think you're failing. I think you are doing great." She says

Her friends laugh

"Guys, really?" She says to them,"Get outta here. I'll catch you guys later. "

Sadie smiles at the kind words, "Thank you... I'm glad you think I'm doing a good job..." Sadie says in a happy tone as she rubs Avery's back.

"Do you have any kids yourself?.." Sadie says to her with a questioning tone

"Oh no, no, I dont." She says,"but I love kids so much."

"Do you plan on having any in the future?.." Sadie says with a slight smile as she continues rubbing Avery's back

"Yeah, definitely." She chuckles,"I would right now, but I'm only 21."

"Ah, gotcha... You have to get your life in order first..." Sadie says while looking down at Avery.
