Then i remember what Balekin said about a friend but who is this friend. Luckily i know another secret passageway when i run to the place i run through the dark halls until i am at a painting which i push and the painting moves i jump out of the tunnel and walk to the throne room where i see cardan sitting with guards surrounding him and across a long table i see Balekin and Nicassia. Balekin is talking he is saying he wants the crown in exchange for me. cardan doesn't say anything is he really going to agree. i decided to just step in

'actually you don't have to pay anything to get me.' i say looking quite proud that i survived Balekin is looking at me like he could stab me any moment. 'how did you get out!' He yells 'I don't know maybe your guards are real stupid or someone left my cell open on purpose.' i say nonchalantly 'very well.' 'this is my last warning if the queen of the seas decide to ever touch my wife again i will make sure that her people will never see the light of day again.

'this war is over you have lost now go back to your sea' Cardan says. i feel butterflies in my stomach he really does care i notice that Nicassia is smiling at me did she make sure my cell was open? 'Wait I would like to talk to Nicassia in private' i say i walk over to her and we walk to a room where no one can hear us. 'did you leave my cell open?' I ask 'yes i did i want cardan to be happy even if it isn't with me. my mothers plan was to make me queen of the land so she can control the land and sea but i don't want to marry Cardan if he has a lover already. i told her that but she didn't care so i decided to go against my own mother hoping she won't know it was me.' she says 'thank you if you ever need help know that i will make sure you get that help.' i say

i was truly grateful when we walk back to the room where Cardan is we get there and Cardan isn't looking to happy. 'dear Nicassia i have changed my mind tell your mother as punishment for taking my wife and declaring war i will murder Balekin' 'But-' Nicassia said before she got cut off 'no buts i am high king you listen to me end of discussion now leave.' Nicassia walked away 'cardan don't you think that's a bit much.' i say he doesn't even look at me he keeps looking at Balekin with anger in his eyes

'i have more than enough reasons to murder him and i will' he says 'but before the war you didn't want him killed you're no killer cardan!' I yell in a attempt to make him stop 'in this case i am' he snaps at me Cardan is given a sword by one of the guards and he just stabbed Balekin he didn't even flinch 'clean this mess up and throw the body in the sea.' Cardan says 'are you trying to make a new war.' i say angry he just ignores me and walks away i run after him 'hey talk to me why would you do that?!' I yell 'you could have told me something was going on instead of just exiling me.' i wanted to yell but it came out more high pitched than i wished but i was to tired to care

'im sorry Jude i really am' he walked toward me and hugged me i couldn't take it anymore i started to cry while i buried my face in his neck. 'did they give you enough food and water?' He asked concerned 'no' i say sniffling he picked me up and carried me to his chamber and laid me on his bed. 'I'm going to get you some food and something to drink I'll be right back' he said while walking away when he returned he brought me lots of food and a glass of wine after I ate and drank everything i finally started to feel better. 'Jude i am so sorry i know i should have told you why you were exiled but i didn't want to lose you you are everything to me if i had to i would have given them my crown. if that's what it takes to get you back to me.' he says while stroking my hair softly

'at first i hated you for exiling me i really did but once i knew the whole truth i just needed you to be okay.' i say 'how did you even get out?' Cardan asks 'Nicassia. she wanted you to be happy so she went against her mother for your sake.' i say 'I'll thank her if i ever see her but right now i just wanna sleep next to you' he says i felt tired so i decided that it was a good idea to go to sleep and so we did.
