The lessons dragged on for hours, like usual. It was boring for both Yoi and the students he taught, but hey. They were the ones that had signed up for this class in the first place. If they did their research, then they knew what they were getting themselves into when they signed up for these types of classes. It was funny when Yoi met a student that only took his classes to see the World's smartest person. Most of the people who were like that failed his classes and ended up getting kicked out. That was the best part about his job in his opinion, kicking people out because of the fact that they were never there to learn in the first place. They were only there because of him. It was heart-warming but it was also irritating at the same time. It was mostly irritating.

Yoi continued on, boring even himself with his long speeches and talks about different types of political views and all that what-nots. He was so bored that he yawned and leaned his chin against the palm of his hand, sighing deeply. He taught 6 lessons before finally slamming his book shut, shaking his head with a click of his tongue. He shook his head in disapproval. His students turned to look at him, some startled by him slamming his book shut all of a sudden.

"I'm bored and I know you all are too. We're a week ahead of the other classes, sooo..." Yoi walked to the front of the class and pulled out two container, opening them. Inside were board games, card games, snacks, blankets, soda, candy, and a ton of other things that kids would normally like. He knew that adults had a hard time and that his students weren't recognized enough for their effort, so he tried to spoil them as much as possible. "Have at 'em!" He said with a joyous smile, and the entire class went up and began grabbing board games. Two boys grabbed Uno and sat on the floor. Starting a match. A group of girls began playing operation. Everyone was hanging out with someone...Except for one male in the back corner of the lecture hall.

Carlos, a transfer student from Spain, was sitting with his head down. He was the shy type and didn't talk to anyone in the class. He had fluffy dark brown hair that reached down to his shoulders and covered his eyes. His skin was tan and he had quite a few beauty marks. He had a prominent scar on his lip that stuck out quite a bit. Carlos wore a black hoodie and some dark blue jeans. His sleeves were rolled up like they always were. Today, his hair was out up in a ponytail, revealing his dirty brown eyes. They were rather pretty, especially when the sun beamed down on Carlos's face.

Yoi raised an eyebrow and without hesitation made his way over to Carlos. He slowly scooched over to the tan male, making his existence known. Carlos turned to look at Yoi, blinking and giving a look of confusion. Yoi only moved closer until he was sitting right next to Carlos. He wrapped his arm around the man's shoulder and hummed a bit, gently rubbing his back in a reassuring manner. He spoke in a rather gentle tone, much like how he spoke to Bear in the mornings.

"Y'know, your classmates are really nice. I'm sure that if you try and talk to them, you can maybe make some new friends. I get that as an adult, friends aren't what you want to focus on, but trust me, you definitely need at least one friend. One friend that's supportive and helps you get through life. You always have to have that one friends who's with you no matter what." Yoi told Carlos with a reassuring smile. Carlos, in turn, sighed and looked away, putting his head down.

"..I know, it's just-" Carlos sighed deeply and shook his head. "I...I don't think they'll like me very much." He muttered, his face heating up from pure embarrassment. Yoi frowned.

"What's there not to like about you?" Yoi asked him.

      "Well, I look girlish-"

"So do I, and people like me. It's all about how you approach them."

Carlos sighed again. He sighed a lot. "I guess so, but..It's not the same. I'm...not good with people, so no one ever wants to be my friend because of how socially awkward I am.." He said in a quiet and rather hurt tone. Yoi hummed a bit and began to think of a solution to Carlos's problem. After about a minute or so, Yoi perked up. He had a solution.

Yoi turned Carlos so that the man was facing him. He had a beaming smile on his face and seemed rather excited with his idea. It was a good one in his kind, but he had to know whether or not Carlos was okay with it first.

"I'll be your friend!" Yoi announced in his loud and happy tone, causing Carlos to jump a bit with wide eyes. He seemed surprised at this offer. Perhaps he wasn't expecting it. I mean, to be friends with your professor? It's unspoken of.

Carlos rubbed his ears to make sure they weren't plugged. "I'm sorry, what?" He questioned, still in disbelief at what he just heard.

"I said I'll be your friend!" Yoi repeated happily. Carlos sat there in shock before tears began to form in his now baby brown eyes. He had a small smile on his face.

Carlos sniffled and quickly wiped his tears. "S-sorry, I...I've just...never had a friend before-" He said in a quiet and wavering tone. He sounded like he was going to break down into tears and begin sobbing. Yoi only smiled.

"Well then, I'll be your first." You said softly, giving Carlos a hug. The male hugged back rather tightly, causing Yoi to tense up a bit. Even he wasn't used to hugs, and he was the 'social type' according to literally everyone.

Once Yoi's lessons concluded, his students all packed up and left. He got Carlos's number for safe keeping and began to pack his bag up as well. It was around 3 in the afternoon by the time his lessons concluded. That gave him plenty of time to due his afternoon duties. Yoi found the mystery hero amusing because he was the said 'mystery hero.' The only person who knew was Bear, but Bear wasn't exactly a person. He was a dog for crying out loud, meaning that he couldn't tell anyone about Yoi's secret. Yoi was famous in more ways that one.

Yoi packed the rest of his stuff and walked down to the classroom door, turning the lecture hall lights off and kicking the doorstop into the hall. He stepped out of the room, the door slowly closing behind him. He began down the hall into the grand halls of the entrance. He waved to the secretaries in the main office before heading out, walking over to his car and unlocking it. Once he got back to New York, the hero work would begin. This was the best part of his day in his mind, besides going home to see Bear of course. He loved Bear. Bear was the only one who understood him-

Alas, Bear was only a dog. He was a smart dog though, fit for a smart man such as Yoi. That was why Yoi chose Bear. He never had to train the dog since he was smart and learned commands first try. Any other dog would struggle with the commands Yoi taught Bear and the commands Bear learned. Bear was extraordinary in many ways that that, but we can get into that later when he's more prominent in the story.

Yoi started his car and pulled out of the broad university parking lot, driving down the thin road that led to the entrance of the university. He drove under the wide arch, the university name shining on the metal plaque it rested on. His gaze softened for a moment. Oh, how he loved seeing that name most days. It was rather sad that he probably wouldn't come back to this university for a long time. After his hero work, he had to begin packing. Yoi had another road trip that he had to leave for by 3 AM tomorrow morning. He was flying to Japan for a year to teach at a prestigious school that housed many brilliant minds indeed; Euai high. It was home to some of the brightest young minds in Japan. Yoi was excited to meet such talented young people. He had never taught high schoolers before, only young university adults.

Since today was such a special occasion, Yoi decided to listen to music on his way back to his apartment. He was going to have to get his car situated when he got home since he decided he was going to take Bear to get the dog out of the house. It was going to be like a family vacation! Just Yoi and his dog...That was how the male liked it. Yoi connected his phone to the Aux cord and opened Spotify, selecting a random Playlist. The first song that played was called 'Shit' by Bo Burnham. He enjoyed Burnham's music quite a bit since he often could relate to the man's songs. 'Shit' was one of them. Yoi leaned back and pulled onto the highway, beginning his drive home. It was going to be a long year in Japan. Odds are, Yoi would take a private jet. He sighed in content as he continued to drive, speeding up a bit to pass the cars in front of him. As he drove, his mind began to drift back to a certain moment of his life.
