my ranking of shadowhunter series because i was admiring my copy of chain of thorns because the cover is so pretty holy fuck. ngl this included books and ships but i've already written an essay so.

— probably recency bias with tlh but i love the cast sm i personally think they're the best set of characters in the series. herondaisy was cute; i do actually like them a lot, i think they're a really good main couple but i've always been a side couple girl so i didn't like them as much as i liked a certain couple but they're cute!! i love cordelia as a character, her duality between being a lady and being a badass warrior >>> also her parabataiship with lucie ugh them. and james is also cool, love his friendship with the merry thieves and his powers <33 literally inspired brooks's powers off of him you know i like him he's underrated tbh. but you know i wish their personalities weren't so much about each other and their relationship and their other love interest peoples yknow??? like give me more merry thieves. give me more herondale sibling banter and time together and stuff. give me more cordelia & the girls. give. me. more.
↳ speaking ab the merry thieves i love them :( their dynamic is honestly the best; they give me marauders vibes except they're all lovable beans and i want to hug them all. or date them all idk can i do both??? i already kinda talked about james but he's cute when he's with the boys <3 love them. MATTHEW FUCKING FAIRCHILD AKA THE LOML MY EVERYTHING MY POOR BOY :((( my baby. the fucking light of my life. i love him sm. thomas is so :))) so. my literal everything. he's just along for the ride and he's the awkwardness little bean <33 and CHRISTOPHER FUCKING LIGHTWOOD. WHAT THE FUCK. he did not deserve to die. it was a plot device meant to destroy you and it fucking worked and it wasn't fucking necessary. he was just an innocent guy who loved inventions and blowing up things and he's oblivious to everything else and he's a problem solver and ughhhhh kit :((

↳ alastair is like actually my favorite character. like genuinely i wanted to change my username to alastairxcarstairs or smth LMAO but im too attached to pipermcgay to change it </3 maybe for my backup which i still haven't made yet. whoops. but he's literally everything; his sarcasm, his loyalty, his bitter nature UGH he's everything i love. i wish there were more moments with him and cordelia being cute sibling bond but there's this one fanart of them with the quote of cordelia's always apologizing for him which makes me so :)) lala. and also thomastair is the best ship in this series and no i won't elaborate because this is already so long lmao. i love lucie she's the cutest and same with jesse but like seriously can you two think about anything but each other??? jesse i understand because he was ,,, y'know ,,, dead and she was the only one besides grace he could talk to but like??? come on seriously. also that plot where lucie was mad at cordelia i didn't like because tbh i couldn't remember why she was mad at her though that's my fault tbh. i like second chance so anna and ariadne are fine but also i was kinda bored reading them tbh. like anna litr didn't change at all like she's like tough and shit and anti-dating but she slowly stops denying her feelings for ariadne but they're separated by an arranged marriage or smth and tbh i would like this plot a lot better if the characters were more interesting rip </3 but arianna is also the prettiest ship name <33 so that gives them some points. and GRACE BLACKTHORN. i actually love her sm. i know she's done bad shit and i'm not excusing that but also she was just a child :( and she's just a girl who wants to invent things and be a scientist is that so much to ask??? i just want her to be happy. i wish christopher was alive so they could be the cutest besties alive. bc ugh them >>>
