"Please pick up some dorayaki on your way home."

You cannot be serious.

I say this inside my head, I couldn't say that out loud to my Mother she would knock my head off and me personally I like my head sitting in between my shoulders. "Okay, Mamá is that all?"

The line is quiet for a second then I hear her say "Make sure it's red bean please love you thanks." with that, she hangs up the phone and soon I'm back on the road.

For some reason, there's only one bakery in town that sells red bean dorayaki, and it's on the sketchier side of town.

I don't really want to go over there but I also don't want to see what would happen if I walked into the house without the Dorayaki.

Once I take the turn onto the same block of the bakery, the roads are now empty, there's no one on the sidewalks. gang graffiti everywhere.

"What the hell did I get myself into," I mumble to myself, swinging my leg off my bike and onto the ground. I wouldn't feel comfortable leaving my bike out here unattended but the whole front of the bakery is glass. I'll be able to keep my eyes on it.

The bell above the door rings when I step into the shop, and the smell of different cookies, cakes, and other sweet treats fills my nose.

My stomach growls at the scent, I then notice I haven't really eaten since lunch at school "How may I help you?" One of the workers asked, coming out from the kitchen area of the store.

"Can I get a bag of red bean fish dorayaki please?"

He types my order into the cash register to come up with the total "Okay that'll be one thousand yen." I take out the money and hand it to the man.

"Thank you, your order will be out in a few minutes."

When I get the dorayaki I get back on my bike ready to go home but I make a mistake, don't worry I plan to tell you exactly what the mistake was.

There's an alleyway that leads back to the main road, a shortcut. I didn't wanna be alone on this block so I took a turn onto the alleyway I was near the end when someone appeared in front of my bike.

I pull the brakes on my bike to avoid hitting the person, and once I come to a stop I balance on my leg "What the fuck is wrong with you -" I don't get to finish my sentence as I felt my bike falling.

I hit the ground and the side of my skull smacked against the concrete. That shit hurt so bad I almost teared up. I can tell that'll leave a nasty bruise "Give us all your money bitch."

"Yeah, and we're taking the bike.'' I don't even care about my injuries, what if these assholes damaged my bike?

It's the last thing my Dad gave me before . . .

I close my eyes, counting in my head from five that's all the time they have before I do something that will make them regret ever trying that shit with me.

"Are you even listening?" one of them says, picking me up off the floor by the collar of my school uniform. "Give us -" I raise my leg with so much force, and when my foot connects with his face I can hear a quiet cracking.

Could be his cheekbone, could be his nose I don't know and I really don't care.

He falls to the floor out cold and I land on both my feet. "It's rude to call someone a bitch." I say, dusting my uniform off "Especially when you're nothing but a pussy." Ugh, I can't stand delinquents.
