Her brown eyes roamed around the spacious dining room was filled with their families and friends, sporting comfy casual attire. Her back leaned against the beige armchair with her legs crossed, The four walls surrounding the couple were painted in a beige hue, decorated with blue and pink baby stickers, the streamers hung neatly from the ceiling and the air was thick with indistinct chatter. Her husband's hand rested atop hers in a loving gesture as he led her toward the middle of the dining room.
"Did you think the baby is gonna be a boy or a girl?" She asked him, facing him.
Ja'Marr wrapped his arms around her waist and pecked his wife's cheek. They were having a baby shower for the arrival of their child. They both were so happy to be with each other and around their loved ones.
"Either one, I'll be happy. As long as the baby is healthy and happy.." He replied with a smile, pecking her temple.
Kymani sported an ankle-length white dress with matching sandals, her brown curls bounced at her shoulders with her lips layered with a clear lip gloss and her brown skin glistened beautifully. Her pregnant belly was adorned with a delicate pink floral sash, a gift from her best friend, as she proudly showcased her growing bump.
The room erupted in applause as the couple made their way to the center, where a beautifully decorated table displayed an array of gifts and a towering cake.
The room fell silent as Kymani's best friend, Maya, stepped forward with a microphone in hand. "Ladies and gentlemen, let's raise a toast to Kymani and Ja'Marr, as they go on this journey of parenthood," she announced, raising her glass.
The guests followed suit, raising their glasses and offering heartfelt wishes and blessings to the soon-to-be parents.
"Time to find out..."
The guests picked up their white balloons filled with confetti and grabbed their pins, "One..two..three.." Maya drawled lowly, throwing the balloon in the air.
All the guests threw white balloons in the air and popped them at the same time, the pink confetti spread around the air and fell onto their clothes. Tears welled up in Kymani's eyes as her tears fell down her cheeks. Ja'Marr's thumbs wiped her tears away as he pecked her lips twice.
"Aww! we're having a baby girl.." Kymani gushed, wiping the rest of her tears away using a tissue.
"This is the happiest day of my life and I'm so glad that I get to spend the rest of it with you.." Ja'Marr gushed, wrapping his arms around his wife.
The room was filled with applause and cheer for the married couple, congratulating them on the arrival of their little one, and receiving warm hugs and words of encouragement from their friends and family.
It felt so right to throw this party and know that their baby girl was coming pretty soon. It was the best part.
