The Alpha's little mate

Chapter 9

After a long day of shopping with my mom I was really tired. A day shopping with my mom could tire anyone out. I was unpacking the car and carrying all the bags of groceries into the kitchen and the bags of clothing I just placed in the lounge on the way through to the kitchen. Once everything was out I grabbed my moms keys and locked the car, walking back into the kitchen I opened the fridge to find that I had one red bull left, I took it and began drinking it as I needed all the energy that I could get to help my mom with dinner tonight. My mom and I were unpacking the bags of groceries in silence and my mind couldn't help but bring up the question that I thought about this morning.

Did I love Hunter?

I couldn't help but feel something for him because he was my mate after all and the mate bond had a influence on the feelings that I had for him. The thing that scared me the most was that I felt so deeply about someone who was practically a stranger to me. I knew nothing about Hunter, the only things I actually knew about him was that he was an Alpha of the Blood Moon pack and the features of him that I could physically see and everything about him was a big secret that I had to yet discover. We had only known eachother for about a day or so now and you cant learn much about someone in a day. I was brought out of my day dream to realise that my mom had being trying to talked to me and I had completely ignored her.

"Sorry mom I just had a space out."

"Its fine darling, why don't you go upstairs and relax I've got everything under control from here." she said with a smile. "And dinner will be ready at around 7:30, so your father and Hunter should be back around 7:00."

"Okay thanks mom, you sure you don't need any help?"

"No darling I've got everything organised but thank you dear."

I grabbed my red bull from the counter and headed to the lounge to watch some tv before I headed upstairs to take a bath before dinner. I plopped myself on the couch and placed my red bull on the table next to me before I reach for the remote. As my fingertips touched it, it was ripped away from my reach and I felt a body sling over the couch, only to put their feet on my lap. I knew exactly who it was and I shot them a glare, my assumptions were correct, it was Kyle.

"Give me the remote back! I got it first!" I shouted at him. He just smirked back at me.

"How about.... NO!" he taunted me.

"Give it to me" I growled at him and he just laughed. Before he knew it I was on top of him wrestling for the remote which was rightfully mine because I was their first. He had his arm stretched above his head with the remote in it and his other hand was trying to push me off of him. I kept clawing at his arm attempting to retrieve the remote from his grip. All of a sudden Alex walked in and took the remote straight out of Kyle's hand. We both looked at him in shock. Out of my three brothers I liked Alex the most as he always treated me like a little princess, even though he wouldn't admit to it he always made sure I got what I needed.

"Hey! I had the remote first and then Kyle stole it from me and put his smelly feet in my face." I whined

"I had the remote before you, I cant help it that you're that slow." he said as he put his feet on the coffee table and slumped into the couch. I growled at him and I felt my body tense and my eyes turning black with anger. I growled at Kyle and he just stared at me in shock.

"Sky calm down." I heard my Alex say but I was beyond angry right now and him telling me to calm down didn't help it only made me want to rip someone's throat out even more

"Sky calm down now!" Alex said using his alpha tone. I slowly began to feel myself calm down but I couldn't understand why I got so angry over a remote. I bowed my head to Alex as I felt his intense gaze on me.

"Sky what happened?" he asked with a confused look on his face.

"I ..I ddon't know, I don't know why I got so angry." I said with tears in my eyes. I looked at Kyle with an apologetic look and he came over and hugged me.

"Its okay Sky we have alpha blood in us making us a little hot headed at moments." I pulled away and gave them both a weak smile while wiping the tears that ran down my cheeks away.

"I'm going to go upstairs and take a shower" I said weakly. As I headed upstairs I was trying to figure out what had happened and why I had acted that way. It didn't feel as if I was in control in the situation, it felt like my wolf was in control but she has never been that strong to take over my body as much as she did, I was normally able to control her.

When I reached my room I headed straight for my shower and made sure it was extra hot to distract me from my thoughts. Once I was done I changed into a pair of comfortable tights and a hoodie that was on my bed, it was Hunter's hoodie I remember him wearing it last night when we went to bed. It smelt like him and I instantly missed his touch. I headed downstairs to see if dinner was ready and before I entered the kitchen I heard a laugh which I recognized. I looked around the corner to see Robyn and my Christain standing in the dinning room talking to my dad. I walked over to them and as soon as Robyn saw me she ran over to me and gave me a big hug.

"Hey Sky, what happened to you at school yesterday, I got your texted and all but why did you leave?" she questioned me. I had totally forgotten that she didn't know that I had found my mate.

"Umm..." I was cut off before I could say anything else

"Was it because of the new boys that came to the school. I saw how you were looking at the one that seemed to be the leader." she said giving me a wink. Robyn's expression changed completely and she seemed to have seen a ghost behind me. She just stared at what ever it was. I then felt to big arms wrap around my body and I knew it was Hunter as his touch sent electricity through my body and his scent made me feel so much better than what I was earlier. Robyn was still stunned. Her mouth dropped to the floor before she gave me a glare.

"Robz close your mouth before you catch flies." I said with a slight giggle that I was holding back. the whole time her expression was priceless.

"But he's the.. you were staring at him." she said still shocked from what happened.

"Robz this is Hunter my mate and alpha of the Blood Moon pack, he is also the one that I was gaping at when they walked into the school yesterday." I said with a smile on my face. Hunter had his head leaning on my shoulder with his arms wrapped tight around me and I felt a smile form on his lips as I told Robyn why I had left school early.

"Nice to meet you Robyn." Hunter greeted with a warm smile. Robyn just looked at me and before I knew it she had her arms wrapped around me in a tight hug.

"I'm so happy for you Sky." she said with the biggest smile on her face. I returned the smile and stepped back into Hunters body where he wrapped his arms around me again as I snuggled as close as I could into him. He planted a kiss on my cheek.

"I hope you had a good day baby?" Hunter asked as we walked to the table to take our seats.

"Yes I did, I'm just really tired from all the shopping and this weird thing that happened to me when I got angry with Kyle." I said as I watched him look at me with a confused expression towards the last bit of my sentence.

"What happened while you were arguing with Kyle?" he asked curiously

"I was sitting on the couch and as I went to grab the remote Kyle took it away from me as I was about to take it I got angry and.."

"Dinners ready everyone, lets eat." my mom said interrupting me. I looked at Hunter and he took my hand in his and placed a kiss on my hand. He looked at me as if to say we would talk about it later and I smiled at him.

"Well everyone what are you waiting for dig in" my mom said and everyone began grabbing food and moving bowls in every direction possible and everyone was chatting amongst themselves about their day. But the only thing I could think about is why I got so angry at Kyle over a remote.
