I've been dreading writing this chapter but here it is, hope it doesn't ruin y'all's day but I'll try making shit happier in the few next ones.

"G wake up" David called.

It hadn't been too long since you had fallen asleep and you were now being woken up, groggily in fact.

"Hm, what?" You try responding clearly but your mind was still drifting.

"Dorio called, something up with Maine" he sair putting on his yellow jacket, getting himself ready.

That statement alone was enough to get you up and worried. Maine was the leader, the big dog, if shit was up with him that you should definitely start worrying.

Once you and David got to where everybody was, the vibe seemed off. The atmosphere felt tense like someone had just died, or that everybody was about to get fucked.

"What happened?" You ask while sitting beside David at a couch, facing Dorio who seemed pissed at Maine who was right behind him.

"Kiwi's out of commission" Dorio said

"What? How? She was working on Tanaka right? Something went south?" David said a bit nervous

"Ask the guy behind me" she said pointing at Maine who looked like a puppy who just got a grounding. "She was diving when he lost it and punched her out"

"Sounds to me like Maine needs to get his head checked" Lucy said with a pissed off tone.

You kept quiet. It worried you what this whole thing meant. Maine was showing signs of cyberpsycosis and nothing could be done really. The meds usually prescribed only really fixed things temporarily, but when they wear off shit was still just as bad, basically just delaying the outcome.

Of course, there was the option of removing a few implants, but human parts weren't as easy to find comparing to technological ones, and Maine would definitely be against the idea. So the only thing you could really do is get ready for what was about to come.

Maine got up, fed up with the conversation, leaving the room having David follow him out to go check up on him. You were left with Lucy holding her head in her hands and Dorio, who was giving you a look of uncertainty.

That's when Lucy lost it. Started freaking out on what to do about the job now that the situation just got more complicated.

"Well what the fuck are we gonna do now? Can't risk taking Maine to finish the job now that he can start fucking shit up!" Lucy asks Dorio in a panic.

"We only got until morning to finish this, if that!" Dorio responds

"NCPD provably sniffed out our trail already" you say to Lucy, trying to think of the best plan at the moment, given the little time you had.

David came back into the room, seeing Lucy losing it.

"Come on Lucy, you don't gotta do anything you don't want to, let's get out of here." He said in a way to comfort her, since the job just got a hell of a lot more riskier and Lucy damn well didn't want to get caught.

"Stay out of this David!" Dorio said still not finish with the argument.

"We can drop Tanaka where we nabbed him, pretend nothing happened!" He said not quite bothered

"Are you fucking stupid?" you look at David like that was the biggest shit that has ever left his mouth. "Like people don't already know he's missing and will probably put the pieces together, that is if he miraculously decides to stay quiet."
