Heart VS Mind

Day 5 (Saturday)

Nagulat nga ako sa announcement kahapon na may Saturday classes kami.

Anyway, ang schedule ng Saturday class namin is 8am - 3pm, 3 hours ang free time namin kasi magkalayo yung agwat ng dalawang subject namin.

I went to school at 7am, wala pang tao sa classroom. I've put my bag down and then a familiar face waved at me through the door's window.

It's Novalie.

I answered the door and opened it.
"Ba't naparito ka?" Tanong ko.

"Nothing... I just thought I'd come by and give you this! " Then she handed me a plastic tupperware na may sandwich sa loob, from what I can see on the outside, it has lettuce, cheese, tomato, and egg.

"I heard your class starts at 8 so here! Have this to fill your stomach before the long day ahead of you."

She's really dedicated to convince me.. I don't want to be fooled again...

"Thanks" sabi ko.

Tinanggap ko naman nang maluwag 'yung bigay n'ya subalit mayroon pa rin akong pag-dududa sa kan'ya. Ayaw ko nang maulit 'yung nangyari sa 'kin kay Charlotte. I won't push her away but I won't fully accept her either.

I smiled at that moment. Gusto kong lumuha sa saya kasi that's the first time someone prepared me a meal other than my relatives.

When I looked at her... I saw those eyes of hers... they're.. they're beautiful. She's so cute when she jumps in excitement..

But no! I can't fall victim onto another situation. My reputation has been destroyed, I don't want it to be destroyed any further.

'Yung mga ngiti n'ya... I've always wanted someone to look at me that way and it's her... Novalie.. are you really interested in befriending me or are you just toying with me?

"Okay ka lang ba?" Tanong n'ya bigla sa akin.

"Kanina ka pa naka-titig sa isang spot, your eyes looked dead after you thanked me. Are you okay?" Sabi n'ya in such a worried tone. She cares for me.. pero totoo nga ba 'yung care?

"Y-yeah I'm fine.. 'Di lang ako naka-tulog nang maayos kagabi." Nag-palusot na lang ako, 'di ko alam sasabihin ko.

"Tell me if anything is bothering you, okay?" Ngumiti s'ya. Her smiles are so gorgeous, her teeth are showing as she slightly tilted her head.

"I will.."

She left after patting my head and smiling gently afterwards.

Organization and Management nga pala 'yung first subject namin.

After the first subject, free time na ng 3hrs since mag-kahiwalay nga 'yung dalawang subject namin.

Giniginaw ako, I wanted some warm air so I went outside the classroom. 'Di talaga sapat 'yung long sleeves namin kapag nando'n ako sa p'westo ko; napakalamig don!

'Pag labas ko, sinalubong ako ni Novalie who's drenched in sweat and panting.

"Hey Soren!" Sabi n'ya habang nag-hihingalo sa hangin.

"Alam kong freetime n'yo na so I came down from the gymnasium." Dagdag n'ya.

"Ano'ng ginagawa mo ro'n?" Tanong ko, not noticing how she found out na freetime namin ngayon.

"Tryout! Female basketball~!" She said excitedly. Seems like she really wanted to play basketball as a varsity.

"Oh, good for you." Sabi ko. Wala akong maisip na sasabihin. "Ba't ka nga pala na'ndito sa baba kung nag-tatry out ka?" Dagdag ko.

"Sabi ko kay coach bibili lang ako ng tubig. Pero gusto lang talaga kita makita." She then smiled. She's so cute and sweet, her smile is so bright, it shines brighter than the sun.

"Oh.. you should go back na. I won't stay out here for too long anyway." Sabi ko.

"Hm? Why?" Nag-tatakang tanong n'ya.

"Nag-papainit lang ako." I then laughed.

"Sige then. I'll buy my water and go back na, ba-bye~" Sabi n'ya.

After she left, I just realized na nag-po-pound na ang heart ko nang mabilis. Do I like her? Have I caught feelings for her? Someone I'm not even certain about her intentions?

I don't know what to do. I don't know who to talk to. Ah! Si Devon na lang kaya.. I'll talk to him later. Also, I should probably talk to him more often since bihira kami mag-usap.

Lumipas ang araw nang 'di ko ulit nakita si Novalie, kinda sad to be honest but she doesn't have any obligation to meet and update me throughout the day.

Naka-uwi na 'ko, wala pa ring tao. I went to my bedroom and rested. I texted mom and dad that I'm planning to move out - I want to experience my independence more - just for the experience. Mayro'n kasi kaming bahay sa Arbortowne na malapit kila Devon, I want to live there since nobody is using it anyway. Also, I want to live near my best friend. Kung mag F.O. man kami, it's not really a problem since nasa mag-kabilang dulo kami ng neighborhood. I also texted Devon about the same matter and an issue I'm currently facing.

"Devon, how are you? It's been a while since we last spoke to each other. I'm currently facing an issue of my own, can you help me?" Sabi ko. I pressed send right after I finished typing. Now, I'll be waiting for both my parents' reply and Devon's. Time to sleep for the day muna.
