When I woke up, nakita ko sa table ko yung permit slip ko and a letter. May pirma na ni mom yung slip. Merong white envelope sa desk ko along with the permit, when I opened it, nakita ko yung letter ni dad: "Soren, me and mom are gonna be out of town for a week."
'Di ko na sasabihin lahat ng naka-lagay ron but in summary, nag-bakasyon sila mom and dad for a week and they left a month worth of allowance for me to budget. I feel like it's also a test for me kung paano ko i-hahandle ang gan'to kalaking pera. Napansin ko lang kasi na tomorrow ang dating ng electric bill namin at ang mayro'n sa 'kin is ₱5,000.
When I opened the fridge, halos walang laman! It IS a test! Tinitignan nila kung pa'no ko bubudgetin ang ₱5,000 para matustusan ko sarili ko!
I'm kind of annoyed but thankful na pinag-katiwalaan nila ako sa gan'to kalaking pera. I won't disappoint you mom and dad. I'll show you that I could budget this amount of money!
I prepared a fried egg for my breakfast and I toasted four breads for two sandwiches, one will be for recess.
I went to school na, nothing is notable today. It's the usual 'He's creepy' because of Charlotte.
After school is finished, while nasa lobby ako palabas ng school, a girl approached me. "Hi! " her voice is filled with excitement.
"Hello? Do I know you?" I asked her. She's wearing the female uniform ng school ko.
"Haha, hindi. But I know you~ Soren, 'di ba?" She told me.
"Yeah. And you are? " I asked her. 'Di ako na-creepy-han sa kan'ya since sikat talaga ako sa school for the wrong reasons.
"Novalie. Novalie Silvestre. I'm from ABM-1" sabi n'ya.
"S-Soren Solberg. ABM-6" sagot ko.
Ngumiti s'ya sa 'kin at sinabi n'ya yung intention n'ya. "I've heard the rumors... they've been saying na hinarass mo raw si Charlotte... are the rumors true?"
"No, far from it. But I don't have any evidence to prove it, that's why I've remained quiet." Sabi ko. Pinipigilan kong lumuha dahil sa wakas ay may umintindi sa 'kin at ginustong malaman ang side ko.
"Dapat nag-sstand for yourself ka. What if wala talagang pumanig sa 'yo? May mga taong gustong malaman talaga ang totoo, Soren. Isa na 'ko ro'n." Sabi nya. Nakaka-iyak ang mga salita n'ya.
"Thanks." Wala akong masabi, gusto ko s'ya yakapin pero napa-isip ako na bukod sa baka trap lang ito at di talaga s'ya interested malaman ang totoo, baka maging uncomfortable pa s'ya.
"So uhm... tiga-saan ka pala?" She asked.
"Tiga-Asterville pa 'ko." Sabi ko.
"Ah doon malapit sa elementary?" She asked, curious na curious s'ya. Her acting — if she is — is so convincing but I won't be fooled anymore.
"Oo, doon." Sabi ko and then I let out a nervous laugh.
"Gusto mo ba samahan kita umuwi? I live in Bernardino St. eh" sabi n'ya.
"Sure, I guess?"
I made a 'friend' today.
Before Novalie and I went home, namili muna ako sa palengke na malapit lang sa school. Pinahintay ko s'ya sa waiting area ng school.
After ko mamili (30 minutes) bumalik ako sa school, there, I saw Novalie.. sleeping with her bag as her pillow.
I gently woke her up. "Novalie.. I'm here na. Let's go home."
She slowly woke up. "Oh.. Soren? Sorry naka-tulog ako, I thought nauna ka na but I still wanted to wait."
I gave her a faint smile and reassured her. "I won't. I'm a man of my word."
Novalie smiled, I didn't say it but I noticed she faintly blushed when I said that.
We walked home since pareho pala kaming nag-titipid ng money. She doesn't know that I'm alone, I just told her na nag-titipid ako while s'ya naman is nag-titipid for a pair of shoes. Wala kasi s'yang susuotin for her PE uniform. Nasira raw kasi last time yung shoes n'ya for PE.
Hinatid ko s'ya sa kanila, when I went there, her family is cheering for us. They're so cheerful and supportive of Novalie, something I never experienced since not only yung grandparents ko sa side ni dad doesn't approve of them... my grandparents sa side ni mom also doesn't approve of them. My dad also don't have any siblings so wala akong tito or tita but only on my mom's side. Maliit lang kami. We're just a family of 3 talaga, I haven't even met either side's grandparents kasi nga, 'di sila approve. I envy her family.
When I got home, I prepared myself dinner by using only 7 ingredients: chicken thigh, soy sauce, vinegar, salt and pepper, garlic, and onions. I think you know what dish it is.. my favorite! Chicken adobo~!
I ate my dinner while watching the local news and then went to bed.
