Imagine when Nico Di Angelo is around 16 he comes to camp at some point (or he's already there and they get a new camper) and some little 10 year old kid comes up to him and keeps asking him questions.
Questions like;
"You're a son of Hades, so does that mean you can like go into the underworld whenever you want?"
"Is that your sword?"
"How many weapons can you use?"
"Do you have a boyfriend?"
"Do you get along with Persephone?"
And Nico goes to Percy and just starts complaining.
"Oh man, this little kid keeps following me around asking me questions. He's so annoying."
And Percy just looks him right in the eyes and goes;
"You know, maybe you should try befriending him, otherwise you might regret it."
