"Don't act all goody two shoes just because your boyfriend is here," Ha-na retorted bitterly, her words stinging with resentment.

Hye-ra stood frozen, her gaze fixated on one of the delinquents - a familiar face that sent a shiver down her spine. It was Shin Hyeok-u. He seemed oblivious to the presence of his ex-best friend, lost in the chaos unfolding before him.

"You crazy brat!" Hyeok-u lunged forward, grabbing Ha-na by the hair. "Who do you think you-" But before he could finish his sentence, his arm was twisted in a swift motion.

Ha-na pressed him against the wall, her voice dripping with disdain. "You act like a king at school, but no one at home treats you like a human being," she hissed, before effortlessly throwing him to the ground alongside his friends. Hye-ra couldn't help but smirk at the sight.

"This is yours, right?" Ha-na asked, returning the curly-haired boy's cane with a no-nonsense tone.

"Let's go," she declared, striding away confidently. Meanwhile, Hye-ra remained rooted to her spot, her eyes lingering on Hyeok-u as he groaned in pain after Ha-na's fierce retaliation.

Her reverie was abruptly interrupted by a harsh tug on her forearm. "I said let's go," Ha-na demanded, her voice leaving no room for argument.

The three of them squeezed into the backseat of the taxi, Mun on the left, Ha-na in the middle, and Hye-ra on the right.

"Excuse me.. You guys are the ladies that work at the noodles place, right?" The new guy piped up, his curiosity evident in his voice. "Hey, I'm not that old, I'm literally-" Just as Hye-ra began to interject, Ha-na cut her off with a sharp retort. "So what if we are?" she responded curtly, her tone brimming with defiance.

"Uh.. So where are you guys taking me?" Mun pressed on, his confusion palpable.

"A ditch to leave you to freaking rot and die," Hye-ra shot back sharply, her irritation seeping into her words. Ha-na shot her a glare, while the younger girl simply rolled her eyes in response.

"W-what?" Mun stammered, taken aback by Hye-ra's blunt response.

"You had a weird dream, right?" Ha-na chimed in, attempting to steer the conversation in a different direction.

"A dream?" Mun sounded puzzled, clearly trying to make sense of the situation.

Ha-na nudged Hye-ra, silently urging her to explain further to the boy. "It felt like a dream, but it didn't, but then it still felt like a dream," Hye-ra yawned, her exhaustion evident as she stretched her arms tiredly.

"Oh.. Yes, I did," Mun finally realized, his memory jogged by their conversation.

But Hye-ra couldn't focus on their discussion anymore. Despite their chatter, her mind kept drifting back to one person - Hyeok-u.

FLASHBACK

A 12 year old girl was in the corner of their middle school library reading a random novel.

In the cozy corner of their middle school library, a 12-year-old girl sat huddled with a random novel, her eyes scanning the pages intently.

The soft melodies of her favorite song played through her earphones, causing her to tap her foot in rhythm, lost in her own little world. Suddenly, one of her earphones was yanked away.

"Oh, I know this artist! I didn't think a girl like you would be listening to them," exclaimed a redheaded boy, grinning mischievously.

"Uh, who are you?" she shot back, slightly annoyed by the interruption.
