Please don't judge this is my first book I've ever written, there's also a bit of cussing in the first few chapters don't mind it. Also it might get cringy but I feel like the story still kinda goes along with it yk.
As soon I got into my chauffeurs car I changed my beautiful converse to those ugly heels I got so sad. I got "home" my dad started to pester me so I rolled my eyes and went up to my room, I opened the door to my bedroom, and don't get me wrong I don't hate pink I just don't love it my dad doesn't even know the real me blue and black are my favorite colors not pink and basically my whole room was pink so I opened my balcony door and one thing I do like about this stupid palace is that there was basically a whole forest behind it good thing we live in a small town. Anyway I got changed to go to some stupid meeting the dress was so annoying and all we did was talk about my dad's friends bio daughter, dam talk about family drama apparently her mom and stepdad died in some car accident it's really sad how she has to live all alone my dad's friend didn't even have the dignity to say her actual name (ass hole), I would like to meet her tho. Me and my dad got "home" and I just immediately went to my room my dad didn't even try to talk to me he finally got the hint I went up to my bedroom I laid down on my bed looking up at my roof and I'm so excited for tomorrow because I had the chance to see him again I couldn't wait I almost didn't fall asleep.
My dad had some weird other meeting so he didn't see me when I got out of the palace with my converse on I was basically skipping to my chauffeurs car I'm pretty sure he knew that I was excited for something so he asked "excuse me Madelyn may I ask why you seem so excited" now this was the point in my life where I need to decide if my chauffeur wasn't going to snitch "ok I'll tell you if you promise to not snitch on me and tell my dad" why was I doubting this of course my chauffeur wouldn't tell on me right? My chauffeur said "cross my heart hope to die" so I just told him "a boy is going to teach me how to play base" I was so scared for his response then he said "oh that's great madam your expanding your knowledge of art and you have a new friend" I knew he would understand he's been my chauffeur basically ever since I was born why was I worried.
Anyway I got to school and I'm pretty sure my bodyguard already knew about Grim but I told him about him anyway, Josiah didn't really even care anyway 1,2,3,4, 5th period were normal but I had to work in a group for 5th period so that was "so much fun". P.E was ok I guess but because the only class my "friends" have with me is P.E my one "friend" who forgot their bracelet or something in the music room asked me if I had got her bracelet, not going to lie I completely forgot about that so I lied "oh ya I just forgot it at "home" I'll bring it to you tomorrow" she said "ok whatever" rolled her eyes and walked away.
As soon as the last bell rang to go home I ran straight to the music room to go see Grim and before I opened the door I heard a beautiful sound coming from inside it must've been Grim the sound kind of sounded like a guitar but I didn't want to interrupt him, I tried to push my ear up to the door so I could hear the sound better but the door was actually a little open so when I did thI fell into the room and Grim turned to look at me on the floor and started laughing I got up and dusted of my skirt "hey don't laugh" I looked at him with a frown but he just laughed even harder "would you people shut up" a sleeping boy in the corner said, Grim started to quiet down and the boy who told me and Grim to shut up turned his back and fell back asleep then Grim turned to me and said "I see you've came back" he smile at me with that mesmerizing smile again god that smile "yup" I smiled back at him "what's that" he pointed to the bag with the base inside "my base you told me you would show me how to use it" I put the bag down and started to unzip it "ok then wer're did you get that anyway" he look at me confused while he still sat in his chair with his guitar in his lap "oh I stole it from my dad I mean he won't mind he has hundreds of these things he won't care if one goes missing" I lifted the guitar into my hand the guitar was heavier that I though but after I had tried and tried I finally got it up I grabbed a chair and sat in front of Grim and we got to work. He taught me how to play the first frat and how to tune my base, a frat is the little metal line in between those gaps at the top of a bass but when people say "oh play the first frat" they mean the space in between the little metal lines I know it's a little confusing but it's ok because you'll get used to it at least that's what Grim told me. Oh just so you know my base is a 4 string, light blue, electric guitar(like this).

Anyway Grim also taught me more about the 4 strings I think he called the first and thickest string an E note then the string right below that he called an A note than the string just under the A note was called an D note and the last note was called an G note. Then he told me this unusual phrase so I could remember the notes it went something like "Eddie Ate Dynamite Goodbye" poor Eddie man, this phrase also works for guitar just I think that's their is a few more letters because a bass is usually only 4 strings but obviously a guitar is not. And actually a fun fact about bass or any type of guitar when someone asks you "go up a hole frat" you have to go down I really don't know why but I guess it's just music industry logic and obviously when you go a frat down you have to go up. But unlike a hole frat up a half a frat up (or down just you have to go up for the down half a frat) you have to go to the little place directly under the frat but for a hole frat up you have to skip the little box that's directly under that frat same thing for a hole frat down just you have to skip that box that's directly above it. I still a little confused but Grim said he would teach more about it tomorrow anyway it was getting late and my dad would be "home" in a few minutes so I said "ok I'm going to head "home" see you guys tomorrow" but then I realized that that boy that had told me and Grim to "shut up" had already fallen asleep so I just waved at Grim as a little see you later and as I was about to walk out the door, Grim grabbed me by the hand and asked me "umm so princess I was wondering if you'd like me to walk you home" immediately I said "YES, *ahem* umm that would be great thank you Grim" I almost woke up the boy god that was loud I feel so bad, I heard a giggle before he answered "ok let me just go tell Nick I'm heading out" I was kind of confused because didn't Nick have to head home to so I asked "doesn't Nick have to head home and you do to why are you guys staying in the music room?" Grim looked at me for a few seconds before saying "it's not really any of your business but I just don't want to leave Nick alone princess" I got even more curious so I asked "why, doesn't Nick go home" I could've snapped my fingers but he would have still replied faster "it's not any of your business so stop asking about Nick and let's get walking ok" so I said "ok ya you're right sorry for being so nosy". "Anyway I already told Nick and he said, you know what it doesn't matter what he said" then I heard a little giggle in the background coming from Nick and he said "actually it does matter what I said, because what I said was "whatever just make out with her for me" I'm pretty sure I saw Grim blushing but I couldn't tell because he was looking away from me so I really don't know. He might have heard me giggle anyway he grabbed my wrist and pulled me out the door I mean he didn't like throw me out the door but ya, anyway as we head out of the school I saw my chauffeur I ran up to his car and said "I'm going to walk home with a friend if that's okay with you" so he said "ya of course you can I'm not going to stop you from making a closer bond with your new friend" "thank you sooooo much, oh wait can you please not mention this to my father" "of course madam" "pinky promise" "yes madam I pinky promise, oh and have fun" "thank you, I will" I gave him the best hug I could through the window of the car.
Me and Grim started to walk away from my chauffeurs car but then Grim said "who was that guy" I said "oh that was my chauffeur, he drives me around" he said "oh ok I was just wondering" I get why he asked I mean I just hugged some random guy in a car from his pov so it makes sense he asked. We were walking down this pathway together and I asked Grim "I know this might sound nosy of me but do you and Nick say in that room together all day alone" he didn't look mad sad or any from of upset he just looked like understood why I asked but he didn't want to answer but at the same time he did want to tell me so he said "really what to know why you should ask Nick" so I said "ok and plus I could start a conversation with him you're so smart". Any I got home I said goodbye to Grim and opened my front door and as I should have guessed my stupid dad wasn't there tho I guess that's better for me but whatever I heeded upstairs to my room and laid on my bed but then I got a message and it said...
