the smell of gravy, pumpkin pie and turkey cooking, filled fiona's nose as she opened the door from the downstairs area, where her room was
she could see her dad in the kitchen wearing a cute brown patterned sweater and black skinny jeans
he had a towel over his shoulder as he frantically paced around the kitchen cooking all kinds of things
today was thanksgiving and only three pm. her grandmother, uncle scott, aunts carly and shanna and all her little cousins were coming to their house at 5
upon seeing her dads outfit she gasped and widened her eyes in shocking, laughing. this scared her father
chris jumped not hearing her come up "goodness fiona! baby please tell me why are you gasping and why you're looking at me like I just killed dodger?"
he looked up to see his daughter kneeling down petting their dog "ok first off dad, please don't scare dodge like that." she pouted and rubbed her dog
"and second of all, please go change out of those god forsaken skinny jeans." with a laugh she walked over to her dad and dipped her finger in the cookie dough he was making "hey fiona!"
he swatted her hand and she rolled her eyes "relax old man I washed my hands." chris scoffed and shook his head "ok then at least tell me what's wrong with my jeans."
a chuckle escaped her as she told her dad their outdated and not to mention, ugly
"fi my jeans are not uglyyy!" he exclaimed throwing his head back. "dad. please. these are tighter than lulu leggings.."
quickly she ran up the stairs not waiting for her dads reaction and into his room. before he could process, his daughter walked back out with black cargos
"so i secretly bought these for you and was going to give them to you for christmas, but this—" she looked him up and down "this is an emergency dad. definitely an emergency."
chris furrowed his eyebrows. where and when did she get those. she can't even drive?
he laughs as he gets to stirring the pumpkin cheesecake cookie dough "honey it's just family, why does it matter about my outfit."
pursing her lips fiona gave a shy smile "actually... it's not gonna be just family." she began walking back downstairs when she heard her father call her full name
"fiona barbie evans, what did you do." his tone wasn't angry but he was serious. he saw the young girl keep walking. fiona didn't turn around and spoke fast "i may have invited over simu and his family."
just when he was about to speak he heard a loud beeping sound. "dad I think your turkey is burning!"
the teen yelled over her shoulder and chuckled loudly. her father looked back and saw heavy smoke coming from the oven
"oh dammit!" he removed the turkey from the oven and put his head on the counter "is akora at least coming with?"
the girl smiled and close the down to the downstairs "yes dad!" her father asked if akora was gonna be here
immediately she ran to her phone to text sovanna, like the teen girl she is
