"No.  Forget it," Jake protests.  "No more bikes."

"Man, your head," Bam says so I put my hand up to my head where it hurts and when I look at my hand, there's blood.

"Oh no, I'm sorry."

"We're not vampires, Bella," Bam says.  "Blood doesn't bother us."

"How did you....?"

"You talk in your sleep."

Bam stands and removes his shirt before handing it to me to hold against my head.

"I love you, Brandon."

Both boys smile.

"How hard did you hit your head?" Jake smirks.

"Let's go," Bam says.

They help me back to the truck.

That night, me and Bam meet up with Jessica and Mike, and after watching the movie, we head up the street.

"I don't know why you want to sit through all those zombies eating people and no hot guys kissing anybody," Jessica complains.  "It's gross.  Like... And why are there that many zombie movies anyway? 'Cause if it's supposed to, like, draw a parallel about leprosy, my cousin had leprosy.  It's not funny, you know? And, like, is it supposed to be a metaphor for consumerism? Because don't be so pleased with your own, like, self-referential cleverness, you know?"

"Does she ever shut up?" Bam whispers and I snigger.

"Like, some girls like to shop.  Not all girls, apparently.  Although I was surprised you even came at all.  You know? Like, your depression thing, I get it.  I'm totally, totally worried.  But after a while it's like... your still bumming."

"You want a ride girls?" I hear a man shout so look down a side street to see a bunch of men hanging around with motorcycles.

"And I'm going through stuff, too," Jessica continues.  "You know..."

"Oh will you give it a rest already," Bam says but I'm no longer listening to her.

"What's up? Look what we found," a man shouts.

'Keep walking,' I hear Edward say and turn to see an image of him.  'This is dangerous.'

The image disappears and Bam stands in front of me.

"Are you okay?"

I ignore him as I look at the men.

"Come here for a sec," the man shouts.

"I think I know those guys."

"No, they're bad news," Bam says.

"We got beer! We got bikes."

"I'm just gonna see something."

I start toward the men but Bam grabs me.

"Are you insane? They're dangerous."

"Hey, girlie!"

"I'll be alright, I have my wand."

"But we're not at school."

"I don't care."

Reluctantly Bam moves aside so I continue towards the men.

"Alright, alright, we got a taker."

Edward appears.

'Turn around.'

I turn to go back but change my mind and hurry over to the man.
